Lake Murray (South Carolina)
Lake Murray is a reservoir in the U.S. state of South Carolina. It is approximately in size, and has roughly of shoreline. It was impounded in the late 1920s to provide hydroelectric power to the state of South Carolina. Lake Murray is fed by the Saluda River, which flows from upstate South Carolina near the North Carolina state line. The Saluda Dam (officially the ''Dreher Shoals Dam'') was an engineering feat at the time of its construction. Lexington High School is a public high school in Lexington, South Carolina that provides education for ninth through twelfth grades, serving the communities of Lexington, Lake Murray, and West Lexington. The school's athletic mascot is the Wildcat. Lexington was the first high school and only school in South Carolina to be twice selected as the Carolina First Palmetto's Finest and the first to be named a Unified School. River Bluff High School is one of three public high schools in Lexington, South Carolina, United States. It provides education for ninth to twelfth grades for the town of Lexington and parts of Lake Murray, Oak Grove and West Columbia.
