Lewis Ormond
Lewis Ormond (born 5 February 1994) is a New Zealand professional rugby union player who plays as a Back (rugby union), back for the New Zealand national rugby sevens team, New Zealand national sevens team. International career Born in Hāwera, Ormond was a New Zealand national under-20 rugby union team, New Zealand under-20 trialist and had three seasons in the Taranaki Rugby Union, Taranaki Sevens setup under Willie Rickards. Ormond was first selected for the New Zealand Sevens for the 2015 Hong Kong Sevens after impressing at the New Zealand National Rugby Sevens Tournament, National Rugby Sevens Tournament in January. Ormond made his debut at the Hong Kong Sevens along with Jordan Bunce of Manawatu Rugby Union, Manawatu., and now plays for Stade Aurillacois. Hāwera
Hāwera is the second-largest centre in the Taranaki region of New Zealand's North Island, with a population of . It is near the coast of the South Taranaki Bight. The origins of the town lie in a government military base that was established in 1866, and the town of Hāwera grew up around a blockhouse in the early 1870s. Hāwera is 75 kilometres south of New Plymouth on New Zealand State Highway 3, State Highway 3 and 30 minutes' drive from Mount Taranaki. Rugby Sevens At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's Tournament
The men's rugby sevens tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics was held in Brazil. It was hosted at the Deodoro Stadium, a temporary outdoor stadium constructed as part of the Deodoro Modern Pentathlon Park in Rio de Janeiro. The tournament was held from 9 August to 11 August 2016, starting with group matches before finishing with the medal ceremony on 11 August. The 2016 Games marked the first time that rugby sevens has been played at the Olympics, and the first time since 1924 that any form of rugby had been played at the Olympics. The 2015–16 World Rugby Sevens Series, known for sponsorship reasons as the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, was the 17th annual series of rugby union sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. The Manawatu Rugby Football Union (MRU) is the governing body of the sport of rugby union in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand. The National Sevens is a rugby sevens tournament for New Zealand provincial teams. It is held annually and features a men's event and a women's event. The best teams in the country compete over two days for the respective men's and women's titles. The tournament is currently held in Tauranga. The New Zealand national rugby sevens team competes in the World Rugby Sevens Series, Rugby World Cup Sevens, Summer Olympic Games and the Commonwealth Games. They have won a record twelve World Rugby Sevens Series titles. The team has been officially known as the All Blacks Sevens since 1 June 2012.
