Louis Hémon
Louis Hémon (12 October 1880 – 8 July 1913), was a French writer best known for his novel ''Maria Chapdelaine''. Biography He was born in Brest, France. In Paris, where he resided with his family, he was enrolled in the Montaigne and Louis-le-Grand secondary schools. A bilingual secretary in several maritime agencies, he collaborated, starting from 1904, in a Parisian sports journal. After his studies of law and oriental languages in the Sorbonne, he moved to London. In 1911, he moved to Canada, settling initially in Montreal. Hémon wrote ''Maria Chapdelaine'' during his time working at a farm in the Lac Saint-Jean region. Hémon died when he was struck by a train at Chapleau, Ontario. He never saw the widespread publication of his landmark novel. ''Two Pianos Four Hands'', also referred to as ''2 Pianos 4 Hands'', is a Canadian musical comedy play, written and originally performed by Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt. Richard Greenblatt (born 1953) is a Canadian playwright who currently lives in Toronto. He is best known for '' 2 Pianos, 4 Hands'', which he wrote and performed with Ted Dykstra. Early life Greenblatt was born in 1953 in Montreal, Quebec, to a secular Jewish family. His parents were active Communists until 1956, when they left the party after Khrushchev's Secret Speech. He is the brother of Lewis Furey, musician, actor & director. Greenblatt attended Dawson College. He later trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
