Lew Evans
Llewellyn John Evans (born 19 February 1881) was a rugby union player who represented Australia. Evans, a fly-half, was born in Brisbane, Queensland, and won three international rugby caps for Australia, his first against New Zealand, at Sydney, on 15 August 1903. His brother, Poley Evans William Thomas "Poley" Evans (9 April 1876 – 19 July 1964) was an Australian sportsman. In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. The Australia national rugby union team, nicknamed the Wallabies, is the representative national team in the sport of rugby union for the nation of Australia.
