Lew Booth
Llewellyn Booth (28 February 1912 – July 1984) was a Welsh professional footballer who played as an inside forward. He made over 60 Football League appearances in the years before the Second World War. Career Booth played initially for Swansea Town but was unable to secure a regular first team place. Booth moved to Bangor City and became a prolific goalscorer for the team. Bill Roberts (footballer, Born 1908)
William Samuel Roberts (12 July 1908 – 22 February 1976) was a Welsh footballer who played as a right back. He made over 170 Football League appearances in the years before the Second World War. Career Bill Roberts was born in Bargoed and began his footballing career in the Army. He signed briefly for Tottenham Hotspur in 1932. Bob Hewison signed tough tackling Roberts in September 1933 for Bristol City. Bill Roberts followed Ernie Brinton to Newport County in July 1938. Roberts was captured by the Germans in France during the Second World War. Later Bill Roberts was landlord of the "Elm Tree" pub in Bishopsworth, Bristol then worked locally for HM Customs & Excise. Joseph Melton James (October 3, 1939 – August 27, 2020) was an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, "Bullet" Bob Armstrong. In the course of his career, which spanned five decades, Armstrong held numerous championships throughout the Southeastern United States. Robert Hewison (25 March 1889 – 1964) was an English footballer who filled various roles on the left of the pitch before going on to make his name as a manager. Playing career Born in Backworth, Northumberland, Hewison began his playing career with North East England non-league sides East Holywell Villa and Whitley Athletic before joining Newcastle United in 1910. He joined Leeds City in 1914 but due to the First World War and their expulsion from the Football League he never appeared in an official league match for the club. After suffering a leg break during the 1918-19 season Hewison was asked to serve as City's secretary during their winding up. Management career Hewison briefly returned to Newcastle before joining Northampton Town in 1920 as a player-manager. He remained in this position until 1925 when, having retired from playing, he switched to Queens Park Rangers as manager.
