Amanda Levens
Amanda Kay Levens (born January 24, 1979) is an American women's college basketball coach. She is currently the head coach at the University of Nevada. Previously, she was hired as head coach at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) in 2008, when the school began a five-year transition to the NCAA's Division I. From 2012 to 2017, she was associate head coach at Arizona State before being hired at Nevada as head coach. Early life and education Born in Belvidere, Illinois, Levens graduated from Belvidere High School in 1997. At Belvidere High, she was a three-time All State and Amateur Athletic Union All-American honoree in basketball. In the fall of 1997, Levens enrolled at Old Dominion University and began playing at point guard for the Old Dominion Monarchs. In her first season in 1997–98, Levens played in 29 games and averaged 3.1 points as Old Dominion made a run to the Sweet 16 round of the 1998 NCAA tournament. Dorsey Levens
Herbert Dorsey Levens (born May 21, 1970) is a former American football running back in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 1994 NFL Draft. He helped the Packers win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl XXXI against the New England Patriots. He played college football at Notre Dame and later Georgia Tech. In his career, Levens also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants. While playing for the Packers, he rushed for 1,000 or more yards twice and was selected to the Pro Bowl after the 1997 season. Early years Levens was born in Syracuse, New York and first attended Nottingham High School (Syracuse, New York), then Notre Dame. Justin Levens
Justin Robert Levens (April 18, 1980 – December 17, 2008) was an American mixed martial artist. A professional competitor from 2004 until 2007, he competed for the UFC, the WEC, the Palace Fighting Championship, and for the Southern California Condors of the IFL. Levens and his wife died from gunshot wounds in mid-December 2008. The incident is a murder-suicide, according to law enforcement officials. Background Levens grew up poor in the Philadelphia housing projects, as a child with ADHD, and was on his own from age 15. Maria Elizabeth (Marie) Levens (born 13 July 1950) is a politician who held the post of Foreign Minister of Suriname for five years (2000–2005). On 16 July 2020, Levens became the Minister of Education, Science & Culture. Biography Levens first studied at the Pedagogical Institute in Suriname, continued to study at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and received her doctorate from the University of Amsterdam. In 1977, she returned to Suriname to teach at the Pedagogical Institute. After having worked in education she joined the board of the Anton de Kom University of Suriname and contributed to the establishment of the school of Educational Sciences. Philip Levens is an American screenwriter and television producer known for creating the science-fiction TV mini-series '' Ascension.'' Education and career Levens grew up in Lubbock, Texas and attended The University of Texas at Austin. He initially wrote and produced on UPN's '' All Souls'', The CW's ''Smallville'', CBS's ''Wolf Lake'', and Fox's ''Night Visions.'' In 2000, Levens sold his one-hour dramedy "Red Shift" to UPN and rewrote "Old City" for Jan de Bont. Levens is a village and civil parish in the South Lakeland district of the modern English county of Cumbria. It lies within the historic county of Westmorland. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,007, increasing at the 2011 census to 1,049. The village lies south of Kendal off the A6 and A590 roads. Levens Hall is within the parish.
