Levale Speigner
Jimmy Levale Speigner (born September 24, 1980 in Thomasville, Georgia) is an American former Major League Baseball relief pitcher who played for the Washington Nationals. Speigner attended college, and played NCAA ball for four years, at Auburn University. Professional career A 14th-round pick by the Minnesota Twins in , Speigner worked his way up the minor league chain, having a solid year in for the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats, and spent a short time with the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. After the season, he was selected by the Washington Nationals as a Rule 5 Draft pick. Speigner worked as a middle reliever and appeared in 12 games in 2007, with a respectable 3.77 ERA through mid-May. But by then, four of the National's five starters were on the disabled list, and, Speigner, along with a few other Nats relievers, was pressed into service as a starter. Hit (baseball)
In baseball statistics, a hit (denoted by H), also called a base hit, is credited to a batter when the batter safely reaches or passes first base after hitting the ball into fair territory with neither the benefit of an error nor a fielder's choice. Scoring a hit To achieve a hit, the batter must reach first base before any fielder can either tag him with the ball, throw to another player protecting the base before the batter reaches it, or tag first base while carrying the ball. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The Columbus Clippers are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League (IL) and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians.
