Lev Naumov
Lev Nikolayevich Naumov (russian: Лев Никола́евич Нау́мов; 12 February 1925, Rostov – 21 August 2005, Moscow) was a Russian classical pianist, composer and educator. Received a title of People's Artist of Russia and was nicknamed the "Godfather of the Russian piano school".''88 notes pour piano solo'', Jean-Pierre Thiollet, Neva Ed., 2015, p. 126. Professor Naumov studied with the legendary Heinrich Neuhaus, becoming his assistant and eventually his successor. Professor Naumov's studio produced some of the better-known pianists to emerge from Russia in the past 40 years. Konstantin Scherbakov
Konstantin Scherbakov (11 June 1963 in Barnaul, Siberia, Russian SFSR) is a Russian pianist. He was the winner of the first Rachmaninoff international piano competition in 1983. In 1990, he played solo in four recitals at the Chamber Music Festival of Asolo; this launched his international career. Scherbakov has had a successful recording career for Naxos Records; among his CDs on that label are recordings of all Tchaikovsky's Piano Concertos, the nine Beethoven symphonies (as transcribed for the piano by Liszt), and music by Godowsky, Medtner, Respighi, Shostakovich, and Lyapunov. Boris Petrushansky (born 3 June 1949 in Moscow) is a Russian-Italian pianist. Petrushansky started an intercontinental concert career in the mid-1970s after graduating from the Moscow Conservatory. Aleksey Nasedkin
Alexei Nasedkin (russian: Алексе́й Насе́дкин; 20 December 1942 in Moscow – 4 December 2014 in Moscow) was a Russian pianist and composer. Nasedkin showed a talent for music at a young age, composing an opera at age 7, ''The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish'' (Сказке о рыбаке и рыбке), and performing in public at age 9. He attended the Central Music School in Moscow from 1949 to 1961, where his teachers included Anna Artobolevskaya. Alexander Melnikov (pianist)
Alexander Markovich Melnikov (born 1973) is a Russian pianist. His grandma was the Soviet pianist and composer Zara Levina. Anna Malikova
Anna Malikova (born 14 July 1965) is a Russian pianist. Life Malikova was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where she received her first musical education with Tamara A. Popovich at Uspensky Music School. At the age of 14 years she entered Central Music School in Moscow in the class of Lev Naumov. Later, she continued her studies with Naumov at Tchaikovsky Conservatory. After her graduation she taught at the conservatory as Naumov's assistant from 1992 until 1996. Alexei Lubimov
Alexei Lubimov (born 1944 as Алексе́й Бори́сович Люби́мов, Alexey Borisovich Lyubimov) is a Russian pianist, fortepianist and harpsichordist. Lubimov studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Heinrich Neuhaus and Lev Naumov. After successes in several competitions, he gave the premieres in the Soviet Union of several pieces by composers such as Arnold Schoenberg, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Pierre Boulez and György Ligeti. Alexander Yevgenyevich Kobrin (Александр Кобрин, born 20 March 1980 in Moscow) is a concert pianist and teacher. At age five, he enrolled in the Gnessin Special School of Music in Moscow where his primary teacher was Tatiana Zelikman. When he turned eighteen, he enrolled at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, as a student of the legendary teacher, Lev Naumov, and he holds a graduate degree from that institution. As a teenager, Kobrin won several youth piano competitions, but he won his first adult competition, the Scottish International Piano Competition when he was 18.
