Max Walker De Laubenfels
Max Walker de Laubenfels (1894–1960) was an American spongiologist. He received his undergraduate degree from Oberlin College and his doctorate from Stanford University. He was among the most prolific identifiers of new species of Caribbean sponges, describing 60 species from 1932-1954. Family ( la, familia, plural ') is one of the eight major hierarchical taxonomic ranks in Linnaean taxonomy. It is classified between order and genus. Calcinea
The Calcinea are a subclass (biology), subclass of the calcareous sponges. Its phylum is Porifera and class is Calcarea. Branching is usually dichotomous branching, dichotomous or umbellate with anastomoses, which gives rise to reticulate growths on stalks in adults.
