Letňany
Letňany is an area of Prague, Czech Republic. It was founded in 1307, and became part of Prague in 1968. It has been part of the ''Prague 9'' administrative district since 2001, having previously been in the local government district of ''Prague 18'', and it has its own Cadastral community, cadastral area (also called "Prague 18"). It has become one of the richest districts in Prague. There is a large shopping mall, "Obchodní centrum Letňany", which has a shopping area in excess of 125,000 m2. Letňany was the site of the aircraft industry (Avia and Letov Kbely, Letov), but as the industry gradually declined Letňany became a mostly residential district. There are two airports – the non-public international Prague–Letňany Airport, Letňany airport and Prague–Kbely Airport, Kbely military airport. Avia
Avia Motors s.r.o. is a Czech automotive manufacturer. It was founded in 1919 as an aircraft maker, and diversified into trucks after 1945. As an aircraft maker it was notable for producing biplane fighter aircraft, especially the B-534. Avia ceased aircraft production in 1963. History The company was founded by Pavel Beneš, Miroslav Hajn, Jaroslav František Koch and Václav Malý in 1919 and became part of Škoda Works a.s. in 1928. During the 1930s the factory became the biggest aircraft producer in Czechoslovakia and moved to Letňany near Prague, where production continues until today. During the Nazi occupation Avia made aircraft for the German Luftwaffe. After the war the company was nationalized and became involved in the automotive industry. Obchodní centrum Letňany, also known as OC Letňany is a shopping mall located in the Letňany district of Prague, Czech Republic. With 130 shops and an area of , it is the largest shopping centre in the Czech Republic. The complex was described by '' The Prague Post'' in 2001 as "one of the best malls in the city". Letňany (Prague Metro)
Letňany () is a metro station on Line C of the Prague Metro. It is located about one kilometre south of Letňany built-up area, on the border between Letňany and Vysočany, near a tripoint with Kbely, and it belongs to section IV.C2 of Line C, connecting Letňany with Ládví. The station was opened on 8 May 2008 as the northern end of the extension from Ládví and has served since then as the new terminus of the line. Station characteristics Letňany Station is the terminal station of Line C. It is located at the junction of Beranových Street and Prosecká Street, at the south end of Tupolevova Street. Letov Kbely
Letov is an aircraft company located in Letňany, Prague, Czech Republic. It is the oldest aircraft company in the region. History Letov was founded in 1918 by the Czechoslovak Ministry of Defense to repair World War I trophy planes. The first indigenous aircraft, the Letov Š-1, was designed and built in 1920, and some 50 aircraft types were built by 1939. During World War II the factory served as repair shop for the German Luftwaffe. Production lines were also set up during World War II for combat versions of the Ju 290 aircraft, commencing with the Ju 290 A-2, which carried a search radar for its patrol role. Since the 1950s, the plant has manufactured parts for the MiG-15, MiG-19 and MiG-21. Line C (Prague Metro)
Line C () is a line on the Prague Metro. It crosses the right-bank half of the city center in the north-south directions and turns to the east at both ends of the line. It is the system's oldest and most used line, being opened in 1974 and transporting roughly 26,900 persons per hour in the peak. Prague–Kbely Airport
Prague–Kbely Airport (Czech: ''letiště Praha–Kbely'') ( ICAO: LKKB) is a military airport located in Kbely, in the northeast municipal district of Prague, Czech Republic. Once Prague's principal airport, it is now used mainly as a military base for the Czech Air Force. Kbely airfield is no longer used as a front-line Czech Air Force base, but it is utilised by military transport aircraft of the Czech Air Force, and the VIP aircraft which are used to transport Czech politicians. Prague Aviation Museum is also located at this airport, with a collection that includes 275 aircraft. The No Filter Tour was a European/North American concert tour by the Rolling Stones which began on 9 September 2017 in Hamburg, Germany. The tour was scheduled to conclude in 2020 but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tour resumed in September 2021. A few weeks after that announcement, the Stones announced that drummer Charlie Watts underwent an unspecified medical procedure and that he would likely be unable to join the tour due to a lengthy recovery.
