''Let There Be Light'' is a 2019 Slovak-Czech drama film directed by Marko Škop who co-wrote with Frantisek Krähenbiel & Zuzana Liová. The film is produced by Jan Melis, Petr Oukropec, Marko Skop, and Pavel Strnad. The film stars Frantisek Beles, Milan Ondrík, Dieter Fischer, and Ingrid Timková. The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival ( cs, Mezinárodní filmový festival Karlovy Vary) is a film festival held annually in July in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. The Karlovy Vary Festival is one of the oldest in the world and has become Central and Eastern Europe's leading film event. History The pre-war dream of many enthusiastic filmmakers materialized in 1946 when a non-competition festival of films from seven countries took place in Mariánské Lázně and Karlovy Vary. Marko Škop
Marko Škop (born 1974 in Prešov, Slovakia) is a Slovak film director. He received degrees in journalism at Comenius University in Bratislava in 1996 and in film directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in 2001. He gained his PhD in Mass Media from the Faculty of Philosophy at Comenius University in Bratislava in 2005. Awards At the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, ''Other Worlds'' received the "Audience Award" and "Special Mention of the Jury" in 2006, and ''Osadné'' was awarded "Best Documentary" in 2009. Ingrid Timková
Ingrid Timková (born January 17, 1967, in ČSSR) is a Slovak actress. She is most notable for appearing in the first Czech- Slovak film produced after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, ''Anjel Milosrdenstva'' ( en, The Angel of Mercy, 1993), directed by Miloslav Luther. The role of Anežka brought Timková the Magnolia Award at the 5th Shanghai TV Festival in 1994 as Best Actress in a Television Film. Biography Timková was born in Sečovce, formerly Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, as the second descendant of then mother-teacher and father who was a device/traffic chief. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The International Feature Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films.
