"Let Me Love You for Tonight" is a song by American singer Kariya, which was released in 1988 as her debut, non-album single by Sleeping Bag Records. It was written by Jerry Ferrer, and produced by Bob and Jerry Ferrer. Kariya version The song was a success across the US and European club scene during 1988 and also in the UK when it was re-released in 1989. It reached No. 15 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music Club Play chart in December 1988 and No. 44 on the UK Singles Chart in July 1989. Critical reception On its release, ''Billboard'' described the track as having a "Latin/pop rhythmic bed" and an "aggravated female vocal". Sleeping Bag Records is a defunct New York City-based independent record label founded by musician Arthur Russell and entrepreneur Will Socolov. It was active between 1981 and 1992, and specialized in dance music and hip hop. Background and history The label was founded in 1981 initially to release singles produced by Arthur Russell under his various dance aliases. Their first release was the Dinosaur L album '' 24→24 Music'' (1981). The label's roster would eventually include Mantronix, Just-Ice, Nice & Smooth, T La Rock, EPMD and Stezo; freestyle vocalists Nocera and Kariya (" Let Me Love You for Tonight"); and R&B singer-songwriter Joyce Sims. Belouis Some (born Neville Keighley; 12 December 1959) is a British singer, songwriter and musician. He had UK and Worldwide hits in the 1980s with " Some People", "Imagination" and " Round, Round" from the John Hughes film ''Pretty in Pink''. "Some People" and "Imagination" charted on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1985. Career 1980s Neville Keighley grew up in Forest Hill, South London. He started playing guitar and writing songs while at school (Dulwich Prep London and Royal Russell School). After leaving school in 1978, Keighley spent several years developing his songwriting, recording demos and playing small gigs. Keighley's first release was "Lose It to You" on The Cue Record Label in 1981 under the name Nevil Rowe. ''Living Your Life'' is the third and final studio album from British new wave musician Belouis Some. It was released in Germany in 1993. Background ''Living Your Life'' was Belouis Some's first studio album in six years, and would also be his last. After finding differing levels of commercial success with the albums ''Some People'' (1985) and ''Belouis Some'' (1987), Belouis Some decided to form a band. In 1989 he formed The Big Broadcast, and the band toured the UK playing small venues and clubs. However the group never made any recorded releases. Biffco is a music production and songwriting team from Brighton, England, formed by Richard "Biff" Stannard, Julian Gallagher, Ash Howes.
