Let It Rock (1973 Compilation)
''Let It Rock'' is a 1973 compilation album issued to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Atlantic Records. Featuring tracks from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s, the album highlights the blues and soul roots of the label and offers glimpses of how those roots had developed over time. It is notable for its inclusion of early tracks by artists later to become major acts, and of original versions of tracks later to become classics. It was compiled by Charlie Gillett and Dave Laing (editor of ''Let It Rock'' magazine), who also provided the sleeve notes. Rock music is a broad genre of popular music that originated as " rock and roll" in the United States in the late 1940s and early 1950s, developing into a range of different styles in the mid-1960s and later, particularly in the United States and United Kingdom.W. The Statue of Liberty (''Liberty Enlightening the World''; French: ''La Liberté éclairant le monde'') is a List of colossal sculpture in situ, colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York City, in the United States. The copper statue, a gift from the people of France, was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and its metal framework was built by Gustave Eiffel. Big Walter Price
Big Walter Price (August 2, 1917 − March 7, 2012) was an American blues singer, songwriter and pianist. Born near Gonzales, Texas, he moved to San Antonio, where he released his first song called "Calling Margie" in 1955. In 1955 he moved to Houston, where he lived until his death. In the 1960s he signed with Peacock Records and released several of his singles. His song "Pack Fair and Square" was covered by the J. Geils Band on ''the J. Geils Band'' album. Charles Edward Anderson Berry (October 18, 1926 – March 18, 2017) was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist who pioneered rock and roll. Boz Scaggs
William Royce "Boz" Scaggs (born June 8, 1944) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. An early bandmate of Steve Miller in The Ardells and the Steve Miller Band, he began his solo career in 1969, though he lacked a major hit until his 1976 album ''Silk Degrees'' peaked at number 2 on the ''Billboard'' 200, and produced the hit singles " Lido Shuffle" and " Lowdown". Howard Duane Allman (November 20, 1946 – October 29, 1971) was an American rock guitarist, session musician, and the founder and original leader of the Allman Brothers Band, for which he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. Bill Wyman
William George Wyman (né Perks; born 24 October 1936) is an English musician who achieved international fame as the bassist for the Rolling Stones from 1962 until 1993.
