''Let's Hide Away and Dance Away with Freddy King'' is a 1961 instrumental album by blues guitarist and singer Freddie King (at the time spelled "Freddy"). Released on King Records, the album contained a number of influential songs and two hit singles, " Hide Away" and "San-Ho-Zay". The former reached number five on the ''Billboard'' Hot R&B chart and number 29 on the broader Hot 100 chart, while the latter reached numbers four and 47. The Stumble
"The Stumble" is a blues guitar instrumental composed and recorded by American blues artist Freddie King, for his 1961 album '' Let's Hide Away and Dance Away with Freddy King''. It is considered a blues classic and follows in a string of popular instrumentals recorded by King in the early 1960s, including " Hide Away", "San-Ho-Zay", and "Sen-Sa-Shun". King uses a melodic guitar line and a chord progression that differs somewhat from that of the typical I–IV–V 12-bar format, such as starting on the IV (or subdominant) chord and a vi–ii–V–I turnaround. In comparison to the more widely-known "Hide Away", music writer Dave Ruben describes it as "a virtuosic recording, with only ing's'Remington Ride' hot on its tail in the chops-required department". Sonny Thompson (probably August 23, 1916 – August 11, 1989), born Alfonso Thompson or Hezzie Tompson, was an American Rhythm and blues, R&B bandleader and pianist, popular in the 1940s and 1950s. Biography There is some uncertainty over Thompson's origins, as well as his birth name. Researchers Bob Eagle and Eric LeBlanc indicate that he was born in 1916 in Wilkinson County, Mississippi, but other sources state that he was born in 1923, either in Mississippi or in Chicago. He began recording in 1946, and in 1948 achieved two #1 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, R&B record chart, chart hit record, hits on the Miracle record label, label – "Long Gone (instrumental), Long Gone (Parts I and II)" and "Late Freight", both featuring saxophone, saxophonist Eddie Chamblee. Texas blues is blues music from Texas. As a regional style, its original form was characterized by jazz and swing influences. Later examples are often closer to blues rock and Southern rock. History Texas blues began to appear in the early 1900s among African Americans who worked in oilfields, ranches and lumber camps. In the 1920s, Blind Lemon Jefferson innovated the style by using jazz-like improvisation and single string accompaniment on a guitar; Jefferson's influence defined the field and inspired later performers. Stephen Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 – August 27, 1990) was an American musician, best known as the guitarist and frontman of the blues rock trio Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble.
