Let's Dance To Joy Division
"Let's Dance to Joy Division" is a song by English rock band The Wombats, released as the second single from their debut album ''A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation''. The song was made available to download on 8 October 2007, with a physical release one week later. It is based on a drunken night out experienced by lead singer Matthew Murphy at Le Bateau, a nightclub in the band's home city of Liverpool, during which he and his then-girlfriend danced on a table to " Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division. The lyrics examine the irony of dancing happily to a famously sad song. It is considered to be one of the band's signature songs. There is a hidden track on the 7" vinyl version of the single which features bassist Tord Knudsen singing the '' Postman Pat'' theme song in his native Norwegian. The Wombats
The Wombats are an English indie rock band formed in Liverpool in 2003, consisting of Matthew Murphy (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Tord Øverland Knudsen (bass, backing vocals, keyboards), and Dan Haggis (drums, backing vocals, keyboards). They are independent and have distribution deals with AWAL and Warner Music Australia. They have sold over 1 million albums worldwide. The Triple J Hottest 100 is an annual music listener poll hosted by the publicly-funded, national Australian youth radio station, Triple J. Members of the public are invited to vote for their favourite Australian and alternative music of the year in an online poll conducted two weeks prior to the new year. From 1989 to 2018, the 100 most popular songs were counted down from 12 pm on Australia Day. Since then, the countdown has been held on the fourth weekend of January, due to increasing controversy about Australia Day regarding its marking of the colonisation of Australia and dispossession of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land. Jacob Wester (born 17 November 1987 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish Freestyle skiing, freeskier. Skiing Jacob began Skiing at the age of five, but only appeared onto the freeskiing scene in 2005 when he finished second place at the Jon Olsson Invitational, later that year he won the "Air We Go" in Oslo, Norway.
