Leslie Hoffman (journalist)
Leslie Hoffman (born 21 January) is a former American stunt performer, stunt coordinator, and actress. Career Hoffman's early education and training included gymnastics, ballet camps, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Herbert Berkoff Studios in New York. She was inspired to pursue stunt acting on seeing a Universal Studios Tour stunt show. She traveled to California to study at stuntman Paul Stader's stunt gym. She began stunt work in the 1970s with the film ''Two-Minute Warning'' (1976), and several television series, including '' Police Story'' and ''M*A*S*H''. She performed a 78-foot high fall into water for ''The Love Boat'', and did some work on ''Fantasy Island'' and '' Charlie's Angels.'' She was the double for the six-foot tall Lainie Kazan in a circular stair fall for '' Columbo''. She also stunt doubled for Doris Roberts in the TV series ''Remington Steele''. Saranac Lake, New York
Saranac Lake is a village in the state of New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,406, making it the largest community by population in the Adirondack Park. The village is named after Upper, Middle and Lower Saranac lakes, which are nearby. The village of Saranac Lake covers parts of three towns ( Harrietstown, St. Armand, and North Elba) and two counties (Franklin and Essex). The county line is within two blocks of the center of the village. At the 2010 census, 3,897 village residents lived in Harrietstown, 1,367 lived in North Elba, and 142 lived in St. Armand. The village boundaries do not touch the shores of any of the three Saranac Lakes; Lower Saranac Lake, the nearest, is a half mile west of the village. ''Avalanche '' is a 1978 American disaster film directed by Corey Allen and starring Rock Hudson, Robert Forster, Mia Farrow and Jeanette Nolan. Plot David Shelby is the wealthy owner of a new ski resort nestled below a snow-covered mountain. He invites his ex-wife, Caroline Brace, to come to the resort for the grand opening, which also kicks off a ski tournament and a figure skating competition. The American Broadcasting Company coined the term Afterschool Special in 1972 with a series of television films, usually dealing with controversial or socially relevant issues, that were generally broadcast in the late afternoon and meant to be viewed by school-age children, particularly teenagers. The specials were generally broadcast four to six times during the school year, pre-empting local programming that would usually follow the network schedule in the late afternoon hours. ABC's series ran from 1972 to 1997. Competitors CBS distributed its own productions as the ''CBS Afternoon Playhouse'' (later known as ''CBS Schoolbreak Special'').
