Leslie E. Gehres
Leslie Edward Gehres (23 September 1898 – 15 May 1975) was a naval aviator who reached the rank of rear admiral in the United States Navy, being one of the "mustang" officers who rose from enlisted man to admiral's rank. He is most noted as commanding officer of the aircraft carrier , which was badly damaged by a Japanese air attack in March 1945, where his leadership tenure has been seen as a "a cautionary tale about the scourge of 'toxic leadership'."The Captain of the Carrier USS ‘Franklin’ Is a Case Study in How Not to Lead
