Leshem ( he, לשם, link=no) is one of the Hoshen jewels. It is a Hebrew name, meaning "precious gem". Hoshen
The priestly breastplate or breastpiece of judgment ( he, חֹשֶׁן ''ḥōšen'') was a sacred breastplate worn by the High Priest of the Israelites, according to the Book of Exodus. In the biblical account, the breastplate is termed the ''breastplate of judgment'' ( he, חֹשֶׁן מִשְׁפָּט ''ḥōšen mišpāṭ'' - ), because the Urim and Thummim ( he, הָאוּרִים וְהַתֻּמִּים ''hāʾūrīm wəhattummīm'') were placed upon it.(). These elements of the breastplate are said in the Exodus verse to carry the judgement ( he, מִשְׁפָּט ''mišpāṭ'') of God concerning the Israelites at all times. Edan Leshem ( he, עידן לשם; born March 19, 1997) is an Israeli tennis player. In 2015, he began playing for the Israel Davis Cup team at the age of 17. His career-high ranking in singles is World No. 249, which Leshem achieved on 18 December 2017. His career-high ranking in doubles is No. 349, achieved on 24 September 2018. Giora Leshem
Giora Leshem (born Moshe Giora Rotstein, he, גיורא לשם; February 3, 1940– March 14, 2011(Hebrew/ref>) was an Israeli poet and translator and one of the founders of the Keshev poetry publishing house. At the time of his death, Keshev was the largest independent book publisher in Israel. Leshem has two half siblings named Dorit and Yoram Leshem. Education and experience Leshem was born in Tel Aviv, British Mandate Palestine. He studied chemistry and biology at Bar-Ilan University, and then statistics and physics at Columbia University in New York. In addition, he studied computer operating systems at IBM. He taught at the Kfar Silver Youth Village and also at the Ort Educational Institute. He also participated in the development of medical software applications. He was a proofreader for the Davar newspaper and an editor and translator for the Al HaMishmar newspaper. Naomi Leshem
Naomi Leshem ( he, נעמי לשם; born 3 November 1963) is an Israeli photographer. Her works are in the collections of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Norton Museum of Art in Florida, USA. She received the Constantiner Photography Award for an Israeli Artist from the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in 2009. Biography Leshem was born in Jerusalem, Israel. In 1987, she graduated from the Department of Photography at Hadassah Academic College in Jerusalem. In 1984–1985, she studied General and German Studies at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. In 2014, she received the Mifal HaPayis Arts and Culture Grant. Her photographs feature a range of conceptual explorations of multiple levels of life alongside death, an area in which her work has been influenced by her life as a second-generation Holocaust survivor and an IDF widow from a young age, as well as by the collective Israeli experience. Ron Leshem ( he, רון לשם; born December 20, 1976), is an Israeli-American television writer and producer, best known for serving as executive producer on HBO's '' Euphoria'', and for the film '' Beaufort'', which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Dan (ancient City)
Dan ( he, דן) is an ancient city mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, described as the northernmost city of the Kingdom of Israel, and belonging to the tribe of Dan. The city is identified with a tell located in Upper Galilee, northern Israel, known as Tel Dan (; "Mound of Dan") in Hebrew. Identification and names The Hebrew Bible states that prior to its conquest by the tribe of Dan the site was known as Laish with variant spellings within the Books of Joshua, Judges and Isaiah.
