''Les Scélérats'' (English title: ''The Wretches'') is a 1960 French drama film directed by Robert Hossein who co-stars with Michèle Morgan, Olivier Hussenot and Jacqueline Morane. Robert Hossein
Robert Hossein (30 December 1927 – 31 December 2020) was a French film actor, director, and writer. He directed the 1982 adaptation of ''Les Misérables'' and appeared in ''Vice and Virtue'', '' Le Casse'', ''Les Uns et les Autres'' and ''Venus Beauty Institute''. His other roles include Michèle Mercier's husband in the '' Angélique'' series, a gunfighter in the Spaghetti Western ''Cemetery Without Crosses'' (which he also directed and co-wrote), and a Catholic priest who falls in love with Claude Jade and becomes a communist in ''Forbidden Priests''. Frédéric Dard (Frédéric Charles Antoine Dard; 29 June 1921, in Bourgoin-Jallieu, Isère, France – 6 June 2000, in Bonnefontaine, Fribourg, Switzerland) was a French crime writer. He wrote more than three hundred novels, plays and screenplays, under his own name and a variety of pseudonyms, including the ''San-Antonio'' book series. Michèle Morgan (; née Simone Renée Roussel; 29 February 1920 – 20 December 2016) was a French film actress, who was a leading lady for three decades in both French cinema and Hollywood features. She is considered to have been one of the great French actresses of the 20th century. Morgan was the inaugural winner of the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival. André Hossein, born Aminulla Huseynov, also known as Aminollah Hossein ( fa, امینالله حسین; russian: Аминулла Гусейнов 1905, in Samarkand – 9 August 1983, in Paris) was a French composer of Persian or Azerbaijani origin and a tar soloist. Hossein was the first Persian composer who was able to present his works in international concerts. Life and education His son, Robert Hossein, has written that André Hossein studied in Moscow, Russia and later in Germany where he attended a music academy in Stuttgart and the Berlin Conservatory from 1934 to 1937. His fascination with ancient Persia led him to convert to Zoroastrianism. Cocinor was a French film production and distribution company based in Paris. Established in 1948 its full name is the Compagnie cinématographique du Nord. It was founded by Ignace Morgenstern out of a former distribution company SEDIF he had previously worked for. The company was later sold to Edmond Tenoudji. The company took over Les Films Marceau and distributed some films under the name Cocinor-Marceau. It also acquired the back catalogue of Charles Delac's old company.
