Les Rois Du Gag
is a 1985 French comedy film directed by Claude Zidi. It was released on 12 March 1985 in France. Plot Paul Martin and François Leroux are brothers-in-law, friends, room-mates and gagmen without fame. But one day, one of the most famous television comics, Gaëtan, who has just laid off two of his gagmen considered too old and not original enough, finds himself in the little theatre where Paul and François produce themselves under the name of "Gagsters". Having come to meet Georges Khorseri, a mate of Paul and François, he assists for the first part at their duet. Seduced by their style, he hires them. For both of them, it is the beginning of the fame, but Gaëtan has a hard time to convince his wife, the shrewish Jacqueline, that he loves his troublemaker job, because she dreams of his as the role of the prestigious director Robert Wellson (a grotesque pastiche between Orson Welles and Stanley Kubrick), who will soon shoot his latest masterpiece near Paris. Claude Zidi
Claude Zidi (born 25 July 1934) is a French film director and screenwriter noted for his mainstream burlesque comedies. Born in Paris, he started as a cameraman and then a cinematographer, and he made his directorial and screenwriting debut in 1971. He won the César Award for Best Director for ''My New Partner'', for which he was also nominated for Best Writing. Ticky Holgado
Ticky Holgado (24 June 1944, in Toulouse – 22 January 2004, in Paris), pseudonym of Joseph Holgado, was a French actor and a frequent collaborator with Jean-Pierre Jeunet. With ''Delicatessen'' (1991) by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro, Ticky Holgado saw his acting talent acknowledged. Gérard Jugnot wrote for him the character of the beggar who meets the frame in the unemployment becoming NFA (played by Jugnot) in '' Une époque formidable'' (1990). He received the Caesar of the best male bit part in 1992 for '' Une époque formidable'' and in 1996 for ''Gazon maudit''. Les Charlots, known as The Crazy Boys in the English-speaking world, was a group of French musicians, singers, comedians and film actors, who were popular in the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s. The group was active first from 1965 to 1966 as ''"Les Problèmes"'', under which name they made an album with the French singer Antoine. They renamed themselves ''Les Charlots'' and remained active from 1966 to 1997, then again briefly from 2008 to 2011 (as a duo).
