Les Planes d'Hostoles is a village and municipality in the province of Girona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The municipality covers an area of and the population in 2014 was 1,694. From 1900, Les Planes d'Hostoles was linked to Girona by the narrow gauge Olot–Girona railway, which was extended to Sant Feliu de Pallerols in 1902 and Olot in 1911. The line closed in 1969 and has since been converted into a greenway. Catalonia is (as of 2018) divided into 947 Municipalities of Spain, municipalities. Each municipality typically represents one significant urban settlement, of any size from village to city, with its surrounding land. This is not always the case, though. Carla Simón Pipó (born 22 December 1986) is a Spanish film director. Both her 2017 debut feature ''Summer 1993'' () and her second feature, ''Alcarràs'' (which won the Golden Bear at the 72nd Berlinale, the first Catalan-language film to do so), were submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to represent Spain for Best International Feature Film at the 90th and 95th Academy Awards, respectively. Francesc Xavier Arnau Grabalosa (23 March 1975 – 22 May 2021) was a Spanish footballer who played as a goalkeeper. In a 16-year professional career he played for Barcelona and Málaga, appearing in 126 La Liga games over the course of 12 seasons. He later worked as a sporting director. A greenway is usually a shared-use path along a strip of undeveloped land, in an urban or rural area, set aside for recreational use or environmental protection. Greenways are frequently created out of disused railways, canal towpaths, utility or similar rights of way, or derelict industrial land. Olot () is the capital city of the ''comarca'' of Garrotxa, in the Province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. Olot–Girona Railway
The Olot to Girona Railway was a gauge railway line that operated over of track between Olot and Girona, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. The line crosses the Zona Volcànica de la Garrotxa Natural Park and follows the valleys of the Fluvià, and Ter rivers. It opened in stages from 1895 to 1911, and closed in 1969. The first section of the line, which connected Salt, in the western suburbs of Girona, to Amer opened in 1895. In 1898, the short section from Girona's main line railway station to Salt opened. In 1900, the section from Amer to les Planes d'Hostoles opened. In 1902, the line was extended to Sant Feliu de Pallerols. In 1911, the final extension to Olot opened. The line suffered financial and physical losses during the Spanish Civil War.
