Les Frauenfelder
Edward Leslie Frauenfelder (26 February 1888 – 26 July 1955) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Richmond in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of August Henry Frauenfelder (1855-1916), and Emma Maria Frauenfelder (1864-1895), née Burton, Edward Leslie Frauenfelder was born at Murtoa, Victoria on 26 February 1888. Football Recruited from Albury, Frauenfelder played his first senior match for Richmond, against South Melbourne, at the Lake Oval, on 30 April 1910. Murtoa, Victoria
Murtoa is a wheat district town in Victoria, Australia, situated around Lake Marma on the Wimmera Highway, north-west of the state capital, Melbourne. The town is in the Shire of Yarriambiack local government area. At the , Murtoa had a population of 865 and is located around 30 kilometres from Horsham, a major city in the Wimmera region. The name Murtoa is believed to come from a local Aboriginal word meaning "home of the lizard". Murtoa's post office opened on 1 August 1874. Many of Murtoa's pioneer farmers were German immigrants, attracted from South Australia by Victorian government incentives. Vic Thorp
Victor Charles Thorp (25 October 1890 – 1 October 1941) was an Australian rules footballer for the Richmond Football Club in the Victorian Football League between 1910 and 1925. Nicknamed "Flippa", Thorp was the first true champion player to emerge at Richmond after their admission to the VFL in 1908. A natural defender who showed great judgement, superior ball skills and fierce concentration, Thorp was considered the best player in the game at his position, full back. His battles with Collingwood forward Dick Lee were a highlight of the era. Thorp was one of many great players who grew up in the shadow of the Tigers' Punt Road Oval and served the club loyally for many years, thus influencing the development of the parochial culture of the Richmond club. Michael Maguire (footballer)
Michael 'Mick' Maguire (6 June 1894 – 5 June 1950) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Richmond Football Club in the VFL from 1910 to Round 8 of the 1912 season, then played for the Melbourne Football Club for the rest of 1912 to 1914. Finally he played for the Collingwood Football Club in 1918. He holds the record as the youngest player to have played senior football at Richmond, being only 15 years and 328 days old upon debut in Round 1 of the 1910 season. Despite this, he was the club's leading goalkicker in his debut year. He also gained some notoriety as a welterweight boxer between 1912 and 1915. Maguire was a well-known publican in Melbourne, operating the ''Bull and Mouth Hotel'' in Melbourne, and after 1932, Bellevue Hotel in Brisbane. 1910 VFL Season
The 1910 VFL season was the 14th season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured ten clubs, ran from 30 April until 1 October, and comprised an 18-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the Collingwood Football Club for the third time, after it defeated by 14 points in the 1910 VFL Grand Final.
