Les Bubb
Les Bubb is a British mime artist. Career Les Bubb who was born in Sticklepath, Barnstaple (March 16, 1961) He started his miming career in 1982, performing in pubs and cabaret clubs. In 1988, he appeared on ''Jim Davidson Introduces: New Entertainers'', ''Friday Night Live'' twice, and on the BBC kids' shows ''Going Live!'' and “What's All This Then” in 1987. Les also appeared on '' The Famous Compere's Police Ball'' in 1990. In 1996, Les was approached by the BBC to write a format for a children's television show, which later became ''Hububb''. Les starred alongside Elaine C Smith, Miltos Yerolemou, Ben Keaton and Nicola Park, with fellow mime artist Emil Wolk. Les then appeared in the films ''Invincible'', '' Yam'' and three ''Harry Potter'' films as a voice artist and actor trainer. Mime Artist
A mime artist, or simply mime (from Greek , , "imitator, actor"), is a person who uses ''mime'' (also called ''pantomime'' outside of Britain), the acting out of a story through body motions without the use of speech, as a theatrical medium or as a performance art. In earlier times, in English, such a performer would typically be referred to as a mummer. Miming is distinguished from silent comedy, in which the artist is a character in a film or skit without sound. Jacques Copeau, strongly influenced by Commedia dell'arte and Japanese Noh theatre, used masks in the training of his actors. His pupil Étienne Decroux was highly influenced by this, started exploring and developing the possibilities of mime, and developed corporeal mime into a highly sculptural form, taking it outside the realms of naturalism. The Windmill Theatre in Great Windmill Street, London, was a variety and revue theatre best known for its nude '' tableaux vivants'', which began in 1932 and lasted until its reversion to a cinema in 1964. Many prominent British comedians of the post-war years started their careers at the theatre. As the Palais de Luxe Great Windmill Street took its name from a windmill that stood there from the reign of King Charles II until the late 18th century. In 1909 a cinema, the Palais de Luxe, opened on the site.
