Les Bidasses En Folie
''Les Bidasses en folie'' is a French comedy film directed by Claude Zidi released in 1971. Plot Five catastrophe-prone friends—Gérard, Phil, Jean-Guy, Jean and Luis—decide to leave home and start a rock band. They find a supporter in Crème, a young woman who runs a musical instruments shop and believes in them. She enters them in a battle of the bands which turns out to be rigged, but they win despite unleashing mayhem on stage when she cheats on their behalf. Unfortunately for them, the young men are then called up for their military service. In order to be able to take part in the next competition, they set about being kicked out by being as incompetent and uncooperative as they can be. Their musical talents are however put to use by their commanding officer, who requisitions them to play his daughter's wedding reception. Claude Zidi
Claude Zidi (born 25 July 1934) is a French film director and screenwriter noted for his mainstream burlesque comedies. Born in Paris, he started as a cameraman and then a cinematographer, and he made his directorial and screenwriting debut in 1971. He won the César Award for Best Director for ''My New Partner'', for which he was also nominated for Best Writing. Martin Circus
Martin Circus was a French band formed in the late 1960s, whose musical style developed over time from progressive rock through pop to disco and new wave music in the 1970s and 1980s. Career The band formed in 1968, at a time when the popular music scene in France was dominated by singers and bands performing versions of American and British songs, and established yé-yé and ''chanson''-style singers. Martin Circus was one of the first French bands set up with the aim of writing and performing rock music with French language lyrics. Christian Fechner (26 July 1944 – 25 November 2008) was a French film producer, screenwriter and director. After starting off as an illusionist, he became a music producer with French singer Antoine. He transformed Antoine’s musicians, les Problems, into a band named Les Charlots.
