''Actors'' (original title: ''Les Acteurs'') is a 2000 French comedy film directed by Bertrand Blier. Plot A collection of portraits of actors (exclusively men, with the exception of Josiane Balasko interpreting André Dussollier) who meet and tell their stories in a more or less structured manner. They describe their craft with a certain ironic distance. Bertrand Blier
Bertrand Blier (; born 14 March 1939) is a French film director and writer. His 1978 film ''Get Out Your Handkerchiefs'' won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 51st Academy Awards. He is the son of famous French actor Bernard Blier. His 1996 film ''Mon Homme'' was entered into the 46th Berlin International Film Festival. His 2005 film ''How Much Do You Love Me?'' was entered into the 28th Moscow International Film Festival where he won the Silver George for Best Director. A defence of Blier's work until 2000 was written by Sue Harris, Queen Mary College, London and published in 2001 by Manchester University Press. Personal life With his former wife Françoise, to whom he was married for twenty years, he has a daughter named Béatrice. He also has a son, Léonard, born 1993, with actress Anouk Grinberg. Maria Schneider (actress)
Maria-Hélène Schneider (27 March 1952 – 3 February 2011), known professionally as Maria Schneider, was a French actress. In 1972, at the age of 19, she starred opposite Marlon Brando in ''Last Tango in Paris'', but being traumatised by a rape scene and hounded by unsavoury publicity negatively affected her subsequent career. Although Michelangelo Antonioni's '' The Passenger'' (1975) showcased her abilities, a reputation for walking out of films mid-production resulted in her becoming unwelcome in the industry. Henriette Ragon (10 June 1918 – 30 April 2015), better known as Patachou, was a French singer and actress. She was an Officier of the Légion d'honneur. Biography Early life Born in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, Henriette Ragon began her working life as a typist, then a factory worker, a shoeseller and an antique dealer. Patachou In 1948, with her husband Jean Billon she took over a cabaret-restaurant in Montmartre, called Patachou. Ticky Holgado (24 June 1944, in Toulouse – 22 January 2004, in Paris), pseudonym of Joseph Holgado, was a French actor and a frequent collaborator with Jean-Pierre Jeunet. With ''Delicatessen'' (1991) by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro, Ticky Holgado saw his acting talent acknowledged.
