Leroy F. Moore Jr.
Leroy F. Moore Jr. is an African American writer, poet, community activist, and feminist. Moore was born November 2, 1967, in New York City. Moore is one of the founders of Krip Hop. Moore and his counterparts Rob DA’ Noise Temple, and Keith Jones started Krip Hop, a movement that uses hip-hop music as a means of expression for people with disabilities. The primary goal of the Krip Hop Nation is to increase awareness in music and media outlets of the talents, history and rights of people with disabilities. The Krip Hop Nation also focuses on advocacy, activism and education and holds workshops on relevant social, artistic, and political issues. In addition to his work with Krip Hop, since the 1990s, Moore has written the column "Ill in-N-Chilling" for POOR Magazine. Krip Hop
Krip-Hop is a movement demonstrating alternate arrangements by which hip hop artists with disabilities can communicate through social media, including Education, educators, journalists and conferences. The movement uses hip hop music as a means of expression for disabled people, providing them an opportunity to share their experiences. History Krip Hop was founded by Leroy F. Moore Jr., an African American writer, poet, community Activism, activist and Feminism, feminist who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. POOR Magazine/Prensa Pobre is a grassroots poor people led non-profit arts organization in San Francisco, California and part of the greater indigenous and poor peoples led movements around the world, such as the Landless Peoples Movements, The Homeless Workers' Movement, and Take Back the Land. POOR Magazine additionally holds office in Oakland, CA through its Homefulness Project, a sustainable permanent housing initiative for families displaced by gentrification. Sins Invalid
Sins Invalid is a disability justice-based performance project that incubates artists with disabilities, centralizing artists of color and LGBTQ / gender-variant artists. Led by disabled people of color, Sins Invalid's performance work explores the themes of sexuality, embodiment and the disabled body. In addition to multidisciplinary performances by people with disabilities, Sins Invalid organizes visual art exhibits, readings, and a bi-monthly educational video series. Sins Invalid collaborates with other movement-building projects and provides disability justice trainings.
