Leonardo Muraro
Leonardo Muraro (Mogliano Veneto, 8 August 1955) is an Italian Venetist politician. He is a leading member of Liga Veneta–Lega Nord. A long-time member of Liga Veneta, Muraro was appointed Vice President of the Province of Treviso by President Luca Zaia Luca Zaia (born 27 March 1968) is a Venetian and Venetist politician, who has been President of Veneto since 2010. Prior to that, Zaia was President of the Province of Treviso from 1998 to 2005, Vice President of Veneto from 2005 to 2008 and M ..., who led a monocolor government, in 2002. Three years later, when Zaia was elevated to Vice President of Veneto, Muraro became acting President of the Province. On 29 May 2006 he was elected President on a special election with the 57.3% of the vote. On 16 May 2011 Muraro was easily re-elected for another five-year term with 57.5% of the vote. Mogliano Veneto
Mogliano Veneto ( vec, Mogian ) is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Treviso, Veneto, northern Italy, located halfway between Mestre (Venice) and Treviso. Culture Mogliano is well known for the Medieval festival, which takes place in September of every year, as well as for the Christmas market which takes place from 1–10 December of every year with market stalls being set up in Piazza Pio X by cottage industries from as far away as Perugia. Venetian Nationalism
Venetian nationalism (also Venetism, from the Venetian/Italian name, ''venetismo'') is a nationalist, but primarily regionalist, political movement active mostly in Veneto, Italy, as well as in other parts of the former Republic of Venice. Generally speaking, Venetists promote the distinct Venetian identity and the rediscovery of the Republic of Venice's heritage, traditions, culture, and language and/or demand more autonomy or even independence for Veneto from Italy. Liga Veneta
Liga Veneta ( vec, Łiga Vèneta; en, Venetian League; abbr. LV), whose complete name is ( en, Venetian League for Salvini Premier), is a regionalist political party active in Veneto. The LV, whose ideology combines Venetian nationalism and support for fiscal federalism, was established in 1979 and was the first party of its kind in northern Italy, predating Umberto Bossi's Lega Lombarda by five years. The LV was one of the founding "national" sections of Lega Nord (LN) in 1991 and has been the regional section of Lega per Salvini Premier (LSP) in Veneto since 2020. Lega Nord (; acronym: LN), whose complete name is (), is a right-wing, federalist, populist and conservative political party in Italy. In the run-up of the 2018 general election, the party was rebranded as (), without changing its official name. The party was nonetheless frequently referred to only as "Lega" even before the rebranding, and informally as the (). The party's latest elected leader was Matteo Salvini. Luca Zaia (born 27 March 1968) is a Venetian and Venetist politician, who has been President of Veneto since 2010.
