José Leonardo Ribeiro da Silva (born February 8, 1988), commonly known as Leonardo, is a Brazilian footballer who is currently a free agent and plays as a defender. Career Leonardo was born in São Paulo and played for the São Paulo youth teams before being promoted into the senior team. He was sent out on loan to Major League Soccer team Los Angeles Galaxy in 2010 along with fellow Brazilians from the club Alex Cazumba and Juninho. He made his debut for the team on March 27, 2010, in Galaxy's opening game of the 2010 MLS season against New England Revolution. Leonardo would deal with injuries in 2010, but made 10 appearances and helped the Galaxy win the 2010 Supporters Shield. He scored his first professional goal on April 2, 2011, a headed goal from a David Beckham cross, in a 1–0 win over Philadelphia Union. The 2012 Los Angeles Galaxy season was the club's 18th year of existence as well as their 17th season in Major League Soccer (MLS) and their 17th consecutive year in the top-flight of American soccer. The Galaxy entered the season as both the defending MLS Cup and Supporters' Shield winners. The 2012 campaign was highlighted by the Galaxy successfully defending their MLS Cup title, defeating Houston Dynamo, 3–1, in the MLS Cup final to win their fourth ever MLS Cup championship, tying D.C. United for the most league championships in MLS history, and the second most in North American history. The 2011 Los Angeles Galaxy season was the club's 17th year of existence as well as their 16th season in Major League Soccer and their 16th consecutive year in the top-flight of American soccer. The Galaxy entered the season as the defending MLS Supporters' Shield titleholders. Most notably, the Galaxy became the third straight team to win consecutive Supporters' Shields, after D.C. The CONCACAF Champions League, known officially as the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons, is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONCACAF. The two-stage 2016 MLS Re-Entry Draft took place on December 16, 2016 (Stage 1) and December 22, 2016 (Stage 2). All 22 Major League Soccer clubs were eligible to participate.
