Leonard Kibrick
Leonard Kibrick (September 6, 1924 – January 4, 1993) was an American child actor. Career Kibrick was most notable for appearing in the '' Our Gang'' short subjects series from 1934 to 1936, usually portraying the villain. Kibrick first appeared in the 1934 Our Gang short '' For Pete's Sake''. He appeared in many more Our Gang shorts for the next two years. His final Our Gang short was the 1936 '' The Lucky Corner.'' His role as the bully in the series was taken over by Tommy Bond (as "Butch") in 1937, and Leonard's younger brother Sidney Kibrick portrayed Butch's sidekick, "The Woim". ''Allez Oop'' is a 1934 American short comedy film starring Buster Keaton. It was the second film Keaton made for Educational Pictures. Plot Elmer ( Buster Keaton) works at a clock repair shop and falls for a woman named Paula (Dorothy Sebastian), a customer who brings in her watch to be fixed. Eventually, Elmer invites Paula to go to the circus with him, where she soon becomes enamored with the lead trapeze artist ( George J. Lewis). In an effort to win her heart, Elmer attempts to become an expert in acrobatics as well by practicing in his backyard with a swing and mattress, but with very little success. In the end, though, he is able to show his true mettle, performing amazing athletic feats in order to save Paula from a deadly fire. ''Conflict'' is a 1936 American drama sport film directed by David Howard and starring John Wayne, Ward Bond and Jean Rogers. Plot Pat Glendon is a former lumberjack turned bare-knuckle boxer who travels the countryside as part of gambling scam operated by Gus "Knockout" Carrigan for a New York City syndicate. Glendon arrives ahead of the travelling boxing exhibition, building the confidence of the locals who in turn bet on Glendon to win, only to have him throw the fight. ''Life Returns'' is an American film directed by Eugene Frenke. The film stars Onslow Stevens, George P. Breakston and Lois Wilson with a plot that involves a doctor who is convinced that the dead can be brought back to life gets the chance to prove his theory on a dog that has recently died. Eugene Frenke created a film record of the operation and developed a film that would incorporate the footage of Robert E. Cornish who was doing experiments that successfully let him bring dead animals back to life. Following a preview screening of the film, Universal pulled the film from a general release after declared the film to be a "freak picture, not suitable for the regular Universal program". The film was pulled from any general release but appears to have received a roadshow release. Despite reviews appearing in trade papers in 1934 and 1935, it is not clear when the film was first released.
