Leon Dai
Leon Dai (, born 27 July 1966) is a Taiwanese actor and film director. His film ''Cannot Live Without You'' was Taiwan's submission to the 82nd Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The film also won two awards at the 46th Golden Horse Film Awards. In 2016, Dai faced public anger in China over remarks perceived as supportive of the Taiwan independence movement The Taiwan independence movement is a political movement which advocates the formal declaration of an independent and sovereign Taiwanese state, as opposed to Chinese unification or the status quo in Cross-Strait relations. Secret Sharer
"The Secret Sharer" is a short story by Polish-British author Joseph Conrad, originally written in 1909 and first published in two parts in the August and September 1910 editions of '' Harper's Magazine''. It was later included in the short story collection ''Twixt Land and Sea'' (1912). The story was adapted for a segment of the 1952 film '' Face to Face'', and also for a one-act play in 1969 by C. R. (Chuck) Wobbe. A film, '' Secret Sharer'', inspired by the story and directed by Peter Fudakowski, was released in the United Kingdom in June 2014. The Osaka Asian Film Festival (OAFF, ) is an annual film festival held in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan in March. The festival began in 2005 and currently introduces Asian films. ''Tempting Heart'' () is a 1999 movie, directed and co-written by Sylvia Chang, starring Takeshi Kaneshiro and Gigi Leung as a pair of onscreen lovers. The film has a notable theme song "Xin Dong", performed by Shino Lin Xiao Pei. This song became a radio hit and can still be frequently heard on the radio or at karaoke bars/boxes. ''March of Happiness'' is a 1999 Taiwanese film directed by Lin Cheng-sheng. It tells the story of a teenage romance in a performing troupe set against the backdrop of the Japanese occupation and the 228 Massacre. Several characters are either historical or based on historical people. The film was Taiwan's official Best Foreign Language Film submission at the 72nd Academy Awards, but did not manage to receive a nomination.* The film was also screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival.
