Lenya National Park
Lenya National Park is a proposed national park in Myanmar. It has been proposed since 2002 to be established in the Tenasserim Hills over an area of and extended by in 2004. The area comprises evergreen forest at elevations from , which is governed by Myanmar's Forest Department. By 2011, the national park was not yet gazetted and its boundaries still not demarcated. The endangered Gurney's pitta (''Hydrornis gurneyi'') was rediscovered in the area of the proposed park in 2003. Tenasserim Hills
The Tenasserim Hills or Tenasserim Range ( my, တနင်္သာရီ တောင်တန်း, ; th, ทิวเขาตะนาวศรี, , ; ms, Banjaran Tanah Seri/Banjaran Tenang Sari) is the geographical name of a roughly 1,700 km long mountain chain, part of the Indo-Malayan mountain system in Southeast Asia. Despite their relatively scant altitude these mountains form an effective barrier between Thailand and Myanmar in their northern and central region. There are only two main transnational roads and cross-border points between Kanchanaburi and Tak, at the Three Pagodas Pass and at Mae Sot. An evergreen forest is a forest made up of evergreen trees. Gurney's Pitta
Gurney's pitta (''Hydrornis gurneyi'') ( th, นกแต้วแร้วท้องดำ) is a medium-sized passerine bird. It breeds in the Malay Peninsula, with populations mainly in Myanmar. The common name and Latin binomial commemorate the British banker and amateur ornithologist John Henry Gurney (1819-1890). Its diet consists of slugs, insects, and earthworms. Taxonomy Gurney's pitta was described by the amateur ornithologist Allan Octavian Hume in 1875 and given the binomial name ''Pitta gurneyi''. The species was moved to the resurrected genus ''Hydrornis'' based on the results of a molecular phylogenetic study published in 2006. ''Elaeis'' () is a genus of palms containing two species, called oil palms. They are used in commercial agriculture in the production of palm oil. The African oil palm ''Elaeis guineensis'' (the species name ''guineensis'' referring to its country of origin) is the principal source of palm oil. It is native to west and southwest Africa, occurring between Angola and Gambia.
