Contern ( ) is a commune and town in southern Luxembourg. It is located east of Luxembourg City. As of , the town of Contern, which lies in the south-west of the commune, has a population of . The main towns are Contern, Moutfort, Oetrange and Medingen. Surrounding Contern are the small settlements of Faerschthaff, Bricherhaff, Brichermillen and Kreintgeshaff. Surrounding Moutfort is Milbech, Marxeknupp, Eitermillen and Kackerterhaff. Oetrange is surrounded only by Pleitrange and Medingen is on a hill in the south east of the commune alone. The commune also contains the industrial zones of Chaux de Contern, and Rosswenkel, as well as the activity zone of Weiergewan. The town hall was formerly situated among these industrial zones prior to the redesign of the area. Stadtbredimus () is a Communes of Luxembourg, commune and small town in south-eastern Luxembourg. It is part of the Remich (canton), canton of Remich. , the town of Stadtbredimus, which lies in the south-east of the commune, has a population of 676. Other towns within the commune include Greiveldange. Stadtbredimus Castle in the centre of the town has a history going back to the 13th century when a fortified castle stood on the site.
