Leningradka (''russian: Ленингра́дка'') is a Russian women's volleyball club based in Saint Petersburg and plays in the Super League, the top Russian league. Previous names * Spartak Leningrad (1935–1977) * TTU Leningrad (1978–1991) * TTU Saint-Petersburg (1992–2003) * Leningradka Saint-Petersburg (2003–present) History Soviet years Founded in 1935 as the women's volleyball department of the '' DSO Spartak'' section based in Leningrad, the club made its debut in the USSR Championship in 1939 and played 43 seasons in the USSR Championship until the tournament folded in 1991. The club changed its name in 1978 to ''Tallinn Technology University (TTU) Leningrad''. During the Soviet period, the club won the USSR Cup twice (1976, 1977) and reached the final of the European Cup Winners Cup in 1980–81. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. Ekaterina Ulanova (née Kabeshova) (russian: Екатерина Владимировна Кабешова; born August 5, 1986) is a Russian volleyball player. She competed for the Russia women's national volleyball team in the 2008 and the 2012 Summer Olympics. She also won the gold medal at the 2014 FIVB Club World Championship, playing with Dinamo Kazan.
