Lene Mykjåland
Lene Mykjåland (born 20 February 1987) is a Norwegian footballer who played for LSK Kvinner and the Norway women's national team, having made her debut for the senior team on 7 March 2007, in a 1–2 loss against Germany. Career Mykjåland started her career in Randesund IL, a district club in Kristiansand. In 2003, Mykjåland played with Amazon Grimstad and played there until she went on to Røa in September 2005. Mykjåland was Røa's top scorer in 2007 with 11 goals. Mykjåland quickly became one of the league's top talents, and has also managed to establish herself on the Norwegian National senior squad, having been called up to both the 2007 Women's World Cup as well as the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, China. Kristiansand is a seaside resort city and municipality in Agder county, Norway. Guro Knutsen
Guro Knutsen Mienna (born Guro Knutsen on 10 January 1985) is a Norwegian former footballer who played for Røa IL of the Toppserien league and for the Norway women's national football team. She played alongside her older sister Marie Knutsen in the Norwegian team that finished fourth at the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup in China. Knutsen Mienna won the Norwegian league with Røa IL in 2007 and 2008, and also in 2008 won the Royal Cup to complete " the double". She helped her club to the double again in 2009, and they won the Cup in 2010 and then the League in 2011. Knutsen Mienna competed with Norway in the 2008 Summer Olympics in China and scored the opening goal in the group match against Japan. Norway was defeated by Brazil in the quarter-finals. Toppserien
The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984. History Women's league football was introduced on a county basis in 1977. These leagues acted as qualification for the regional (South) league in 1979. Regional leagues were in operation until the formation of the First Division 1984, when the league was divided into three regions, Group Eastern-Norway (''Østlandet''), Group Western-Norway (''Vestlandet''), and Group Mid-Norway (''Trøndelag''). No teams from Northern-Norway (''Nord-Norge'') played, however. The winners of the three groups met each other for a play-off. 2010 Women's Professional Soccer Season
The 2010 Women's Professional Soccer season was the second season for the WPS, the top level professional women's soccer league in the United States. Regular season champion FC Gold Pride won the WPS Championship on September 26 with a 4-0 victory over the Philadelphia Independence. Women's Professional Soccer
Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) was the top-level professional women's soccer league in the United States. It began play on March 29, 2009. The league was composed of seven teams for its first two seasons and fielded six teams for the 2011 season, with continued plans for future expansion. The WPS was the highest level in the United States soccer pyramid for the women's game. On January 30, 2012, the league announced suspension of the 2012 season, citing several internal organization struggles as the primary cause. Some of these issues included an ongoing legal battle with magicJack owner Dan Borislow and the lack of resources invested into the league. The Norwegian Football Federation ( nb, Norges Fotballforbund, nn, Noregs Fotballforbund; NFF) is the governing body of football in Norway. The 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup was the sixth FIFA Women's World Cup competition, the world championship for women's national association football teams. It was held from 26 June to 17 July 2011 in Germany, which won the right to host the event in October 2007. Japan won the final against the United States on a penalty shoot-out following a 2–2 draw after extra time and became the first Asian team to win a senior FIFA World Cup. UEFA Women's Euro 2009
The 2009 UEFA Women's Championship, or just Women's Euro 2009, was played in Finland between 23 August and 10 September 2009. The host was appointed on 11 July 2006, in a UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Berlin and the Finnish proposal won over the Dutch proposal. The UEFA Women's Championship is a regular tournament involving European national teams from countries affiliated to UEFA, the European governing body, who have qualified for the competition. The competition aims to determine which national women's team is the best in Europe. The 2009 tournament was won by Germany for a seventh time in ten events. Eli Landsem
Eli Landsem (born 22 March 1962) is a Norwegian former international footballer who was the coach of the Norway women's national football team between 2009 and 2012. Career As a player, Landsem won 15 caps for Norway, scoring one goal. She made her Norway debut at the age of 17, and went on to play in the 1984 European Competition for Women's Football, Norway's first UEFA tournament appearance. At club level Landsem played for Asker and collected three First Division winner's medals and two Norwegian Women's Cup winner's medals. From 1994 until 1996 Landsem coached Rælingen in 3. divisjon, the regionalised fourth tier of men's football in Norway. She was the first female to coach a male team at such a high level of the Norwegian football league system. Landsem replaced Bjarne Berntsen as national team coach in October 2009.
