Lena Dürr
Lena Dürr (born 4 August 1991) is a German World Cup alpine ski racer and specializes in slalom. Born in Munich, and raised in nearby Germering, Dürr made her World Cup debut in February 2008. She has two World Cup wins; the first was also her first podium, a parallel slalom in 2013. It was a City Event race in Moscow, Russia, on 29 January, where she came as a reserve. Slalom is an alpine skiing and alpine snowboarding discipline, involving skiing between poles or gates. These are spaced more closely than those in giant slalom, super-G, super giant slalom and Downhill (ski competition), downhill, necessitating quicker and shorter turns. 2022 Alpine Skiing World Cup – Women's Slalom
The women's slalom in the 2021–22 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, 2022 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup consisted of 9 events, including the final. 2020 discipline champion Petra Vlhová of Slovakia jumped out to the early lead in the discipline standings and was able to separate from her closest competitor, six-time champion Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States, when Shiffrin had to miss time at the end of December due to contracting the COVID-19 virus. Vlhová won five of the first six slaloms during the season and finished second in the other. 2012–13 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup
The 47th World Cup season began on 27 October 2012, in Sölden, Austria, and concluded on 17 March 2013, at the World Cup finals in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. The overall titles were won by Marcel Hirscher of Austria and Tina Maze of Slovenia. A break in the schedule was for the biennial World Championships, held 4–17 February in Schladming, Austria. Changes for the 2013 season included the awarding of World Cup points for the slalom crystal globe for the limited field city events (parallel slalom), not just in the overall standings. The nations team event competition at the 2013 World Championships was held on 12 February at 17:00 local time, the seventh race of the championships. Athletes from the best 16 nations in the FIS Overall Nations Cup ranking competed. Rules The 16 best nations in the FIS Overall Nations Cup Ranking were eligible to participate in this event. Each team consisted of 4 to 6 skiers, but at least two female and two male skiers. The format was a knock-out round competition with the pairings being made according to the Nations Cup Ranking. The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2013 were the 42nd FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, held 4–17 February in Austria at Planai in Schladming, Styria. A record number of athletes and countries took part in this championships. Schladming previously hosted the 1982 World Championships, and prior to acquiring the 2013 event, it made two unsuccessful bids to host. The FIS awarded the 2013 championships to Schladming on 29 May 2008, in Cape Town, South Africa. The other three finalists were Beaver Creek in Vail, United States, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, and St. Moritz, Switzerland.
