Len Garrett
Len Garrett is a former tight end in the National Football League. Biography Garrett was born Leonard Neal Garrett on December 18, 1947 in Silsbee, Texas. Career Garrett was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifteenth round of the 1971 NFL Draft. He played two seasons with the team before splitting the 1973 NFL season with the Packers and the New Orleans Saints. Garrett was a member of the Saints the following season and part of the 1975 NFL season before playing the rest of his season with the San Francisco 49ers. He played at the collegiate level at New Mexico Highlands University. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. In some systems, the tight end will merely act as a sixth offensive lineman, rarely going out for passes.
