Leland High School is a public high school located in the Almaden Valley in San Jose, California. Leland is one of the nine high schools in the San Jose Unified School District and is a STEM school. History Leland was founded in 1967. It was named for Raymond B. Leland, who had served as principal of San Jose High School, and his son Gordon Leland, who had been a student at the school and had died in World War II. Awards and recognition Leland has won accolades for its speech and debate team, and more recently its FIRST Robotics Competition Quixilver 604 and its FIRST Tech Challenge Quixilver 8404 robotics teams. In 2021, '' U.S. News & World Report'' ranked Leland as the number 1 high school in San Jose Unified School District and number 68 in the state of California, and the education ranking and review website Niche ranked the school as the number 1 high school in the district and number 77 in the state. Leland Senior High School (LHS) is a public high school in Leland, Mississippi, United States. It educates approximately 336 students in grades nine through twelve. It is a part of the Leland School District. Leland Elementary and Leland School Park feed students into Leland High School. The school in 1982 graduated its first racially integrated school population from K–12, having implemented desegregation in 1970. Leland had a biracial group of parents and school administrators who had encouraged White families to remain in the public school system. By 1992 Leland High School was again majority black. By 1992, many children of White people who had graduated from the integrated Leland school system attended private schools in the Delta. By that time, the black community did not object to the ''de facto'' segregation that occurred. Lealands High School
Lealands High School, formerly Sundon Park Comprehensive School, is a foundation school for 11 to 16 year olds located in Sundon Park, Luton. The school attracts students from Sundon Park and across Luton and Bedfordshire. It was judged good with outstanding behaviour and safety by Ofsted in 2013 and confirmed to continue being a good school overall in March 2017 following a short inspection by Ofsted. In 2014 the school was placed in the top 100 most improved secondary schools for GCSE results including English and maths over a sustained period. Main feeder schools include Sundon Park Juniors School, Leagrave Primary and Pirton Hill, although students join Lealands from primary schools across Luton and the surrounding areas.
