Lejonkulan
Lejonkulan (In English: ''The Lion's Den''), was a historical theatre in Stockholm, Sweden, active in 1667–89. It's the historically second known theatre establishment of Stockholm, after Björngårdsteatern (1640–55). History Lejonkulan was a building down in and over the partly dry moat at the south corner of the royal palace Tre Kronor. From 1648, it was commonly known by the name "Lejonkulan" ("The Lion's Den"), because a lion, a tribute from the storming of Prague during the Thirty Years War, was kept there during the reign of Queen Christina of Sweden. It was constructed with a stable for the lion, an apartment for its retainer, and spectators galleries around an arena: during the coronation of Christina, the lion was made to fight other animals in it. The lion died in 1663. It was thereafter used as a riding hall for Charles XI and a storage for the castle armories. Bollhuset
Bollhuset, also called (The Big Ball House), (Ball House Theater), and Gamla Bollhuset (Old Ball House) at various times, was the name of the first theater in Stockholm, Sweden; it was the first Swedish theater and the first real theater building in the whole of Scandinavia. It was built in 1627 for ball sports and used in this way for forty years. The name Lejonkulan, however, was, in fact, the name of a different building, which was also used by the same theater in the 17th century. Bollhuset was the scene of a long series of most important events in the history of the theater in the city and in the history of Swedish theater. Dorotea Van Fornenbergh
Dorotea van Fornenbergh (born between 1647 and 1654 – died after 1697), was a Dutch stage actor. Life Born to theatre director Jan Baptist van Fornenbergh (1624–1697) and actor Helena Heusen (ca. 1622–1680), married in 1696 to Johan Hauman Gal. Fornenbergh grew up next to the theater that her father opened in 1660 in The Hague. She and her sisters Susanna, Johanna and Cornelia Dorotea and her likely halfsister Anna van Fornenbergh all were part of her father's theatre company, which between 1665 and 1667 and again in 1672 went on an international tour to Northern Germany, Scandinavia and Baltic. They performed in Altona, Hamburg, Altona, Tallinn, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Riga. Dän Swänska Theatren ('The Swedish Theatre') was an all-male Swedish Theatre Comedy troupe, active between 1682 and 1691: from 1686 in Stockholm. The company performed in ''Lejonkulan'' in 1686-89 and in ''Bollhuset'' in 1689–91. They were the first theater company in Sweden composed of Swedish actors and formed the first Swedish language theater in Sweden. Björngårdsteatern
Björngårdsteatern ('Bear's Yard Theater'), also called Christian Thums Commedi-huus ('Christian Thum's Comedy-house') and Theums Spelehus ('Theum's Play-house'), was a theatre in Stockholm in Sweden, active between 1640 and 1655. It was possibly the oldest theatre in Scandinavia, but the information is scarce and it is unconfirmed if the theater permit was in fact used. It was in any event a popular tavern managed by Christian Thum. History In 1637, Christian Thum (d. 1655) bought the ''Björnegården'' ('Bear's Yard') at Södermalm at St Paulsgatan and Björnegårdsgatan in Stockholm.
