Clay
Clay is a type of fine-grained natural soil material containing clay minerals (hydrous aluminium phyllosilicates, e.g. kaolin, Al2 Si2 O5( OH)4). Clays develop plasticity when wet, due to a molecular film of water surrounding the clay particles, but become hard, brittle and non–plastic upon drying or firing. Most pure clay minerals are white or light-coloured, but natural clays show a variety of colours from impurities, such as a reddish or brownish colour from small amounts of iron oxide. Rissa Church
Rissa Church ( no, Rissa kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Indre Fosen municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Leira, just northeast of the village of Årnset. It is one of the churches for the Rissa parish which is part of the Fosen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The gray, stone church was built in a long church style in 1888 using plans drawn up by the architect Carl Julius Bergstrøm (1828-1898). The church seats about 650 people. History The church for the Rissa parish was Rein Church for many centuries. In 1888, the parish decided to tear down the old church and to build a new church at Årnset, about northeast of the old church. The new church would be called ''Rissa Church''. This new church was built out of stone and it was consecrated on 26 October 1888. Botn (Trøndelag)
Botn (also called ''Rissa-Botn'') is an inland fjord in the Rissa area of the municipality of Indre Fosen in Trøndelag county, Norway. It flows through a short, small river into the Sundsbukta, a small bay off the Trondheimsfjorden. The village of Årnset lies on the north shore of Botn. Hydrography and water quality The extraordinarily shallow, narrow, and long inlet restrains the water exchange severely. The daily tidal amplitude is in the order of centimetres, about 1/10 of the tidal amplitude of the supplying Trondheimsfjord. Fosen
Fosen is a traditional district in Trøndelag, consisting of the municipalities Osen, Roan Åfjord, Ørland, Indre Fosen, Orkland, Heim, Hitra and Frøya. The district is dominated by forested valleys, lakes, coastal cliffs but also shallow areas, and in the interior mountains reaching up to 675 m elevation. The western coast has many skerries and some islands, such as Stokkøya in Åfjord. There are some good salmon rivers, and sea eagles and other sea birds are very common along the coast, notably on the shallow area near Ørland (''Grandefjæra'').
