Leinster, Western Australia
Leinster is a town in the northern Goldfields area of Western Australia. It is east of the Goldfields Highway in the Shire of Leonora, and northeast of the state capital, Perth. The town was established in 1976 by Agnew Mining, initially as a dormitory town for miners working in the nearby Perseverance and Rockys Reward nickel mines and Agnew gold mines. It was named for the nearby Leinster Downs station. Facilities at Leinster include a supermarket, service station, community school, day care centre, medical centre and tavern. Sporting facilities include an indoor sports centre, a Olympic sized pool and a baby pool, squash courts, BMX track, football and cricket oval, and an 18-hole golf course. The school is an independent public school for students up to year 12. The Leinster Nickel Operation is part of the BHP's Nickel West business group. Perth

Leinster Downs
Leinster Downs Station is a pastoral lease that once operated as a cattle station and now operates as a sheep station in Western Australia. Situated approximately north of Leinster and south of Wiluna in the Goldfields–Esperance region. It shares a boundary with the Pinnacles Station to the south, and with Wildara station to the south west. The traditional owners of the area are the Wanmala, Tjupan and Pini peoples. Leinster Downs was established by Henry Saunders, a mining entrepreneur and member of parliament who acquired the Leinster gold mine in 1900. Established prior to 1909, the property was raising and selling horses in the goldfields area at that time. Cattle were being run at Leinster Downs in 1920 along with many nearby properties including Dandarraga, Sturt Meadows and Ida Valley. Thunderbox Gold Mine
The Thunderbox Gold Mine is a gold mine 41 km south-east of Leinster, Western Australia. It was formerly owned by Norilsk Nickel, which placed it in care and maintenance in 2007, but is now owned by Northern Star Resources. Ethemology The mine is named after the colloquial Australian term for a toilet, thunderbox, which was given to the site in its early exploration days because the only available toilet on site was a 44 gallon drum on top of an old drill hole. Agnew, Western Australia
Agnew is a ghost town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia north-east of Perth; the closest populated town is Leinster. The town is named after a miner, John Alexander Agnew, who worked for a local mining firm, Bewick, Moreing & Co. The townsite was declared in 1936. It had no official post office in 1936; an unofficial one operated two days per week offering limited service. The town's post office was robbed in 1937, with over £250 being stolen during the course of the night. The post office was part of the Emu mine premises and it was noted that the safe from which the money was stolen was found locked afterward. At one point the town had a population of 500. The Agnew Hotel, was built in 1945 amongst a row of shops on the main street and was all that was left of the town until its demolition in 2018. Kalgoorlie is a city in the Goldfields–Esperance region of Western Australia, located east-northeast of Perth at the end of the Great Eastern Highway. It is sometimes referred to as Kalgoorlie–Boulder, as the surrounding urban area includes the historic townsite of Boulder and the local government area is the City of Kalgoorlie–Boulder. Nickel
Nickel is a chemical element with symbol Ni and atomic number 28. It is a silvery-white lustrous metal with a slight golden tinge. Nickel is a hard and ductile transition metal.
