Leigh Howard
Leigh Howard (born 18 October 1989) is an Australian professional Cycle sport, racing cyclist. He qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in both the Men's Madison and Men's Team Pursuit. Howard was part of the Cycling at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's team pursuit, Men's team pursuit together with Kelland O'Brien, Sam Welsford, Sam Weisford and Alexander Porter (cyclist), Alexander Porter. They secured a bronze medal after overlapping New Zealand who had crashed. Howard also competed in the Men's Madison where the team finished fifth with a time of 3:48.448 and therefore did not qualify for the final. Waurn Ponds, Victoria
Waurn Ponds is a mainly residential southern suburb of Geelong, Victoria, Australia. The suburb is bounded by Rossack Drive, Princes Highway, the Geelong to Warrnambool railway, Reservoir Road, Draytons Road, Pigdons Road, Deakin University and Honeys Road. Alexander Porter (born 13 May 1996) is an Australian professional racing cyclist. Porter qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and was part of the Men's team pursuit together with Kelland O'Brien, Sam Weisford and Leigh Howard. They secured a bronze medal after overlapping New Zealand who had crashed. Porter also competed in the Men's Madison where the team finished fifth with a time of 3:48.448 and therefore did not qualify for the final. Sam Welsford (born 19 January 1996) is an Australian professional Cycle sport, racing cyclist. Welsford qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and was part of the Cycling at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's team pursuit, Men's team pursuit together with Kelland O'Brien, Leigh Howard and Alexander Porter (cyclist), Alexander Porter. They secured a bronze medal after overlapping New Zealand who had crashed. Welsford also competed in the Men's Madison where the team finished fifth with a time of 3:48.448 and therefore did not qualify for the final. Biography Welsford's father was a keen cyclist, and Sam began joining him on rides when he was seven. Welsford worked hard at his cycling and won team pursuit junior world titles in 2013 and 2014. After spending much of his career as a track specialist with occasional forays onto the road, Welsford signed with UCI WorldTeam in November 2021, for two years. Kelland O'Brien (born 22 May 1998) is an Australian Cycle sport, racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . O'Brien qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and was part of the Cycling at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's team pursuit, Men's team pursuit together with Leigh Howard, Sam Welsford, Sam Weisford and Alexander Porter (cyclist), Alexander Porter.
