Leigh Academies Trust
Leigh Academies Trust is a multi-academy trust, formed of 31 schools based in the Kent, Medway and South East London areas. Its Head Office is on the same site as Strood Academy, housing its Executive Team and central teams including Finance, Estates, Marketing, HR, Engagement and IT. The trust has a number of subsidiaries such as LAT Apprenticeships, which runs a number of apprenticeship schemes and LAT Enterprises which generates income which is fed back into the trust's academies. History Leigh Academies Trust was formed in 2008, linking the Leigh Academy and Longfield Academy, under a single governing body with Frank Green CBE as Chief Executive. In November 2013 Simon Beamish was appointed as Chief Executive, replacing Green who was appointed National Schools Commissioner by the Department for Education. Strood
Strood is a town in the unitary authority of Medway in Kent, South East England. The town forms a conurbation with neighbouring towns Chatham, Rochester, Gillingham and Rainham. It lies on the northwest bank of the River Medway at its lowest bridging point. Strood began as a manor then chapelry of Frindsbury until gaining its own parish status in 1193. Today Frindsbury is effectively, in all but a few associations such as in the Church of England, the northern part of Strood. The Hundred of Hoo Academy (formerly The Hundred of Hoo School) is a 4–18 Mixed-sex education, mixed, all-through school and sixth form with Academy (English school), academy status in Hoo St Werburgh, Kent, England. It is part of the Leigh Academies Trust. Stationers' Crown Woods Academy
Stationers' Crown Woods Academy is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in the Eltham area of the Royal Borough of Greenwich in London, England. The school is built upon the land that was formerly King Henry VIII's hunting grounds (hence 'Crown Woods'). First known as Crown Woods School, the school was founded in 1958. It was reopened in new £50 million buildings designed by Nicholas Hare Architects in 2011 and was renamed Crown Woods College. Leigh Academy Blackheath is an 11–18 mixed, free secondary school and sixth form in Blackheath, Greater London, England. It was established in September 2018 in temporary accommodation, with the first cohort of Year 7 pupils. It is part of the Leigh Academies Trust. History The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) approved the school in January 2015, and 18 potential sites were considered. Plans were submitted for the former Blackheath Bluecoat school site, with detached playing fields in Hervey Road, during July 2018. The Halley Academy
The Halley Academy is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status located on Corelli Road and near the Kidbrooke area of the Royal Borough of Greenwich in southeast London. It originally opened as Kidbrooke School in 1954 as an all-girls school and was one of Britain's first purpose-built comprehensive schools. It started admitting boys in 1982. Mascalls Academy
Mascalls Academy (formerly Mascalls School) is a co-educational secondary school and a sixth form with academy status located in Paddock Wood, Kent. Etymology The name comes from the nearby Mascalls corner. History The school opened in 1956 as Mascalls School, a foundation school administered by Kent County Council. The Leigh UTC
The Leigh UTC is a University Technical College (UTC) for the Dartford area of Kent, England, that opened in September 2014. The UTC specialises in Engineering and Computer Sciences. Building work started in October 2013 at the Bridge development, where Joyce Green Hospital once stood. The main building opened to students in September 2014. Rochester ( ) is a town in the unitary authority of Medway, in Kent, England. It is at the lowest bridging point of the River Medway, about from London. The Williamson Trust is a multi-academy trust centred around the Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School, and the Hundred of Hoo Academy in Rochester, Kent.
