Leicester United Football Club is an English football team based in the East Midlands city of Leicester, Leicestershire. They were originally formed in 1900. They were wound up in 1996, four years away from their centenary however, in March 2023 Steven Eljay (Real Name Michael Stevenson) , Alan Hopkins, Kym Paling & Netty Stevenson backed by Scott Moore and The Richard Moore Sports Community Interest Company reignited the club from the ashes in an attempt to bring the club back to its former glory days starting with the Grassroots Junior Section in the 2023/24 Season with the Community at the heart of its ethos. History In 1900 a group of quarry workers founded Enderby Town Football Club. 1995–96 Southern Football League
The 1995–96 Southern Football League season was the 93rd in the history of the league, an English football competition. The Max Griggs-funded Rushden & Diamonds won the Premier Division and earned promotion to the Football Conference. Ilkeston Town, Stafford Rangers and VS Rugby were relegated to the Midland and Southern Divisions, whilst Nuneaton Borough, Sittingbourne, King's Lynn and Ashford Town (Kent) were promoted to the Premier Division, the former two as champions. In the Midland Division, the bottom two clubs, Bury Town and Bridgnorth Town, were relegated to level eight leagues. Poole Town, who finished bottom of the Southern Division with just one point (from a 0–0 draw with Bashley) dropped two levels into the Hampshire League. Grantham Town F
Grantham () is a market and industrial town in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, situated on the banks of the River Witham and bounded to the west by the A1 road. It lies some 23 miles (37 km) south of the Lincoln and 22 miles (35 km) east of Nottingham. The population in 2016 was put at 44,580. The town is the largest settlement and the administrative centre of South Kesteven District. Grantham was the birthplace of the UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Isaac Newton was educated at the King's School. The town was the workplace of the UK's first warranted female police officer, Edith Smith in 1914. The Leicestershire Senior League (currently sponsored by Everards Brewery) is a football competition based in Leicestershire, England. History The league was formed in 1896, had a two-year hiatus between 1901 and 1903, and has run continuously since 1903 apart from during the two world wars and a four-year spell in the 1930s. A second division was added in 1948. The longest serving team in the league was Holwell Sports, who completed 76 seasons in the league, 60 of them in the top division but left in 2008 to join the new East Midlands Counties Football League. Current structure The league currently has three divisions, the Premier Division, Division One and Division Two (increased from 2 divisions ahead of the 2018–19 season), and is a feeder to the United Counties League.
