Michael Leib (January 8, 1760December 22, 1822) was an American physician and politician from Philadelphia. He served as a surgeon in the Philadelphia Militia during the American Revolutionary War. He served as a Democratic-Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives three times; from 1795 to 1798, 1806 to 1808 and 1817 to 1818. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives for Pennsylvania's 2nd congressional district from 1799 to 1803 and for Pennsylvania's 1st congressional district from 1803 to 1806. Karl Leib was a German SS officer. Leib was son-in-law of the head if the SS-Hauptamt Gottlob Berger, and served as a SS officer in that office during World War II. In 1940 he was appointed as head of the SS office ''Ergänzungstelle Norwest'' in the Hague in the Netherlands. With the rank of ''SS-Sturmbannführer'' (Major), Leib was in charge of the Norwegian recruitment and propaganda office ''Germanische Leitstelle'', at Drammensveien in Oslo. His office also published '' Germansk Budstikke'' and '' SS-Heftet'', which was the Norwegian edition of '' SS-Leitheft''. Aryeh Leib Yaffe (born 1876) ( he, אריה לייב יפה ) was a Hebrew poet, journalist and editor of Haaretz newspaper. Leib Yaffe was born in Grodno, Belarus. He spent his university years in Germany. A life-long champion of the Zionist cause, he immigrated to Palestine in 1920, where he became chief editor of Haaretz. He founded and served as director-general of Keren Hayesod. In 1924, he visited Pinsk to promote the Zionist cause and received a warm welcome from the Jewish community. In 1942, he was sent on a mission to South America, and in December of that year he traveled to United States as an emissary of the Zionist Movement. On March 11, 1948, he and 12 others were killed by a car bomb in the courtyard of the Jewish Agency building in Jerusalem. |

Weissberg was born in Probużna (then part of Austria-Hungary) to Jewish parents Seide and Ehaja (née Ringel) Weissberg. He was married to Adela (née Taubes) Weissberg with whom he had two sons: Samuel (born on April 25, 1933, in Brod na Savi) and Saadia (born on December 28, 1936, in Slavonski Brod). Weissberg was educated at the rabbinical seminary "Israelitisch-theologische Lehranstalt Vienna". He didn't know any Croatian when he arrived in Brod with his wife, but he quickly learned it. Weissberg was a rabbi of the Jewish Community of Slavonski Brod until World War II. His wife would often replace him at religious classes. Rabbi Leib Tropper (born 1950 in New York City) is the founder of the Kol Yaakov Torah Center, which was located in Monsey, New York. Career Tropper worked for Ohr Somayach in Jerusalem, and later become the educational director of Ohr Sameach, New York located in Yonkers and Monsey. In 1981, Tropper joined Rabbi Avrohom Gershon Tress zt"l in founding a new yeshiva for baalei teshuva, the Kol Yaakov Torah Center, and became its rosh yeshivah. Eternal Jewish Family Tropper founded the Eternal Jewish Family (EJF) project, which advocated more rigorous standards for conversion to Judaism, and made it easier for intermarried families to get a conversion. Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman ( he, אהרן יהודה לייב שטינמן), also Shtainman or Steinman (November 3, 1914 – December 12, 2017), was a Haredi rabbi in Bnei Brak, Israel.
