Lehman Engel
A. Lehman Engel (born September 14, 1910, Jackson, Mississippi - died August 29, 1982, New York City) was an American composer and conductor of Broadway musicals, television and film. Work in theatre, television and films Engel worked in a variety of positions on television specials. He was composer and conductor of the music for the famed 1954 television production of Shakespeare's ''Macbeth'', starring Maurice Evans and Judith Anderson, but did not work on the 1960 remake starring the same two actors. He was conductor of the first (and so far, the only) television version of Leonard Bernstein's ''Wonderful Town'' (1958) (TV), as well as, in the preceding years, of the ''Hallmark Hall of Fame'' productions of Shakespeare's ''The Taming of the Shrew'' in 1956, ''Twelfth Night'' in 1957, and '' The Tempest'' in 1960, all with Maurice Evans. Lehman Kahn
Lehman Kahn (September 9, 1827 – February 4, 1915), also known by the pseudonym L. K. Amitaï, was a Belgian Jewish educationist and writer. Biography Lehman Kahn was born in Breisach, Baden, to Jewish parents Sara () and David Kahn. He was educated at the Progymnasium of Breisach and at the polytechnic school and the pedagogic seminary of Carlsruhe. After occupying the position of teacher in his native country and at the Jewish school of Hegenheim, Alsace, Kahn was called to Brussels as principal of the Jewish school there (1855). He also taught singing and conducted the choir at the city's synagogue services. In October, 1863, he founded ''L'Institut International Kahn'', a school of commerce and modern languages. Lehman Caves
Great Basin National Park is an American national park located in White Pine County in east-central Nevada, near the Utah border, established in 1986. The park is most commonly entered by way of Nevada State Route 488, which is connected to U.S. Routes 6 and 50 by Nevada State Route 487 via the small town of Baker, the closest settlement. The park derives its name from the Great Basin, the dry and mountainous region between the Sierra Nevada and the Wasatch Mountains. Lake-Lehman Junior/Senior High School
Lake Lehman Junior Senior High School is a public school in Lehman Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States that was established by the merger of a Middle Level Educational Building, which provided an education from grades seven to eight, and a high school, which did the same for grades nine to twelve. The two schools were combined in 2003 and it is located in a rural setting. Most classes consist of 30 or fewer students. Basic classes are offered for everyone, but the school also offers advanced courses, and Advanced Placement classes for college preparation. The Lehman Alternative Community School (LACS) is a public, alternative, combined middle and high school in the Ithaca City School District in Ithaca, New York. The school serves grades 6–12 with approximately 305 students. History In 1974, parents and teachers in Ithaca, New York, rallied support on the school board to create a junior high school that would provide students with an educational experience that would be empowering, relevant and democratic. David Lehman was recruited to be the school's first principal and to help develop the curriculum. The resulting program, the New Junior High Program (NJHP) for grades 7 to 9, was housed in the old Markles Flats building on the corner of Court and Plain Streets in downtown Ithaca.
