The legislative districts of Lanao del Norte are the representations of the province of Lanao del Norte in the various national legislatures of the Philippines. The province is currently represented in the lower house of the Congress of the Philippines through its first and second congressional districts. The highly urbanized city of Iligan last formed part of its representation in 2010. History Prior to gaining separate representation, areas now under the jurisdiction of Lanao del Norte were represented under the Department of Mindanao and Sulu (1917–1935) and the historical Lanao Province (1935–1961). Baroy, Lanao Del Norte
Baroy, officially the Municipality of Baroy ( Maranao: ''Inged a Baroy''; ceb, Lungsod sa Baroy; tl, Bayan ng Baroy), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Lanao del Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 24,683 people. History As early as 1918, Baroy was originally called Baloy, a plant commonly found in the community that is used for mat weaving. Later on, the said plant became extinct and the inhabitants of the locality decided to change the name to Baroy. The municipality of Baroy was formerly a mere barrio of the municipal district of Kolambugan. When Tubod was separated from Kolambugan (Republic Act No. 58, October 17, 1946), the barrios of Baroy, Sagadan, and Princesa were brought along with it. Bacolod, Lanao Del Norte
Bacolod, officially the Municipality of Bacolod (Maranao: ''Inged a Bacolod''; ceb, Lungsod sa Bacolod; tl, Bayan ng Bacolod), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Lanao del Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 24,367 people. The town is home to an old Spanish fort, known as Fuerza de Bacolod, which is in dire need of proper conservation and faithful restoration by the National Museum of the Philippines.
