Legions Of War
Mayhem is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Langhus in 1984. They were one of the founders of the early Norwegian black metal scene, Norwegian black metal scene and their music has strongly influenced the black metal genre. Mayhem's early career was highly controversial, primarily due to their notorious live performances, Early Norwegian black metal scene#Dead's suicide, the 1991 suicide of vocalist Dead (musician), Per Yngve Ohlin ("Dead") and the Early Norwegian black metal scene#Murder of Euronymous, 1993 murder of guitarist Euronymous, Øystein Aarseth ("Euronymous") by former member Varg Vikernes ("Count Grishnackh") of Burzum. The group released a demo and an EP that were highly influential, and amassed a loyal following through sporadic and notorious live performances, attracting further attention through their ties to the string of Early Norwegian black metal scene#Church burnings, Norwegian church burnings and the incidents of violence surrounding them. Langhus
Langhus is a suburban area in the municipality of Nordre Follo in Viken, Norway. With a population of about 13,000, Langhus includes the local areas of Bøleråsen, Vevelstad and Langhus. Transport The village is stretched along the Østfold railway line, which runs between Oslo S and Ski and includes Langhus and Vevelstad railway stations. The distance between Langhus and Vevelstad stations is 650 metres. Education There are three primary schools in Langhus (Bøleråsen Skole, Vevelstadåsen Skole and Langhus Skole) and one Secondary School (Haugjordet Ungdomsskole). Another secondary school, Vevelstad Ungdomskole, was located near the church but is now no longer in use. Other facilities The commercial centre of Langhus is known as Langhussenteret and includes Langhus Post Office, a supermarket, cafes and other stores.
