Leodegar
Leodegar of Poitiers ( la, Leodegarius; french: Léger; 615 – October 2, 679 AD) was a martyred Burgundian Bishop of Autun. He was the son of Saint Sigrada and the brother of Saint Warinus. Leodegar was an opponent of Ebroin, the Frankish Mayor of the Palace of Neustria, and the leader of the faction of Burgundian nobles. His torture and death made him a martyr and saint. Early life Leodegar was the son of a high-ranking Burgundian nobleman, Bodilon, Count of Poitiers and Paris and St. Sigrada of Alsace, who later became a nun in the convent of Sainte-Marie at Soissons. His brother was Warinus. He spent his childhood in Paris at the court of Clotaire II, King of the Franks and was educated at the palace school. When he was older he was sent to Poitiers, where there was a long-established cathedral school, to study under his maternal uncle, Desiderius (Dido), Bishop of Poitiers. Leger Douzable Jr. (born May 31, 1986) is an American football defensive end who is currently a free agent. He was signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He played college football at UCF. Douzable has also played for the New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, St. Louis Rams, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, and San Francisco 49ers. Early years He was a 2-year letter winner at Alonso High School in Tampa. As a senior, he finished with 50 tackles and 10 sacks and also returned an interception for a touchdown along with blocking two field goals and forcing two fumbles. Leger is a newer neighbourhood in the Terwillegar Heights area of south west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. According to the 2005 municipal census, approximately four out of five homes (82%) are single-family dwellings. Another 14% are duplexes and 4% are row houses. Substantially all (97%) of residences are owner-occupied. Hotel Léger
The Hotel Léger, in Mokelumne Hill, California is one of the oldest hotels still operating in California. The hotel and courthouse building are registered as California Historical Landmark #663, and located in present-day Calaveras County, California. History George Léger, a Frenchman who came during the California Gold Rush, opened his Hotel de France in 1851, as a wood-framed tent. Next door was the Calaveras County Courthouse, as Mokulemne Hill was the county seat at the time. When the county seat was moved to San Andreas in 1866, Léger bought the court building and incorporated into his hotel. One reason was that it was made of stone and thus had survived two fires that had ravaged the town previously. After restoration following another fire in 1874, the hotel became known as the Hotel Léger, and it has been in operation ever since.
