Lega Liguria
Lega Liguria ( en, Liguria League), whose complete name is ( en, Liguria League for Salvini Premier), is a regionalist political party active in Liguria. Established in 1987, it was one of the founding "national" sections of Lega Nord (LN) in 1991 and has been the regional section of Lega per Salvini Premier (LSP) in Liguria since 2020. Since 2015 Edoardo Rixi has been the party's leader. History The party was founded in 1987 by Bruno Ravera as Ligurian Union (''Uniun Ligure''). It participated to the 1989 European Parliament election as part of the coalition Lega Lombarda – Alleanza Nord. In 1989–1990 it took part in the process of federating the Northern regionalist parties, ahead of the regional elections. In February 1991 it was one of the founding members of Lega Nord, taking the current name, and since then it has been the "national" section of that party in Liguria. The flag of Liguria is one of the official symbols of the region of Liguria, Italy. The current flag was adopted on 7 July 1997. 2018 Italian General Election
The 2018 Italian general election was held on 4 March 2018 after the Italian Parliament was dissolved by President Sergio Mattarella on 28 December 2017. Voters were electing the 630 members of the Chamber of Deputies and the 315 elective members of the Senate of the Republic for the 18th legislature of the Italian Republic since 1948. The election took place concurrently with the Lombard and Lazio regional elections. Giovanni Toti
Giovanni Toti (born 7 September 1968) is an Italian journalist and politician, who has been President of Liguria since June 2015. Toti was also elected to the European Parliament, following the 2014 European Parliament election. Biography Born in Viareggio in 1968, Toti grew up in Massa Carrara where the family ran a hotel, and he has lived for many years with his family and parents in Bocca di Magra, Ameglia, in the province of La Spezia, Liguria. Andrea Corrado (Albissola Marina, 15 October 1873 – Genoa, 1963) was an Italian ship-owner. 2010 Ligurian Regional Election
The Ligurian regional election of 2010 took place on 28–29 March 2010. The incumbent President Claudio Burlando of the centre-left Democratic Party (PD) faced Sandro Biasotti, backed by The People of Freedom (PdL) and Northern League Liguria. Biasotti was President of the Region from 2000 to 2005, when he was defeated by Burlando. Ligurian Independentist Movement
The Ligurian Independentist Movement ( it, Movimento Indipendentista Ligure, M.I.L.) was a regional political party in Italy. It was founded in Genoa on 14 January 2001 by a group of citizens, some of them from the Ligurian Lega Nord, belonging to different social classes. Their intent is to recognize the rights to independence from Italian Republic of the populations living in the territory of the former Republic of Genoa.
