Lee Won-Kuk
Ernesto Carlos (born as Lee Won-Kuk; also spelled Lee Won-guk (이원국), May 10, 1948, in Seoul, South Korea), known in Japan as Pou Cho (菊茶), is a South Korea-born Mexican professional baseball player. Carlos is probably the first Korean player to be signed by a Major League Baseball franchise, and almost certainly the first person to play professional baseball in Japan, the United States, Mexico, and Korea, with the bulk of his career spent in the Mexican League. (He is a candidate for the Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame.) He is also known as Ernesto Carlos Kuk Lee and Won Lee and Genkoku Lee and Wong Kuk Lee. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp
The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League (IL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. They are located in Jacksonville, Florida, and are named for shrimp caught in the area. The team plays their home games at 121 Financial Ballpark, which opened in 2003. They previously played at Sam W. Wolfson Baseball Park from 1962 until the end of the 2002 season. A team known as the Jacksonville Suns competed in the Triple-A International League from 1962 to 1968. The franchise was relocated to Norfolk, Virginia, as the Tidewater Tides in 1969. Fresno Giants
The Fresno Giants were a minor league baseball team that played in the California League from 1941 to 1988. The team was based in Fresno, California. First teams The city of Fresno had professional baseball as far back as 1898 when it had a team in the original California League, then considered an "outlaw" league (''i.e.'', outside the bounds of Organized Baseball). The team dropped out of the league after that year, but the California League returned in 1905 with the Fresno Tigers, joined late in the season by Fresno native and future hall of famer Frank Chance. In 1906, the Tacoma Tigers of the Pacific Coast League moved to Fresno, playing as the Fresno Raisin Eaters for one season. Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball organization and the oldest major professional sports league in the world.
